The war in Ukraine has been going on for 18 months in it's present stage,
and all this time the media, and nearly all politicians, and Zelensky,
have been telling us we are winning.

And all that time we've be losing but Vladimir Putin has been moving as slowly
as possible in the hope a treaty will be agreed to without excessive casualties.

In Turkey, in April 2022, less than a month after the start of the present stage of hostilities,
the seventh draft of an agreement to stop hostilities was initialed by the parties involved,
but the U.S. ordered it's lapdog Boris Johnson, to tell Zelensky he would
not be allowed into NATO if he quit the war.

Meanwhile the U.S. public has been reassured each month that Russia is losing
and most of the public either believes it, or in most cases just doesn't care.

A clear sign something was wrong was given in the joint session of Congress where
Zelensky arrived to a standing ovation, said we had won the war in Ukraine, to another
standing ovation and a minute later explained he needed another sixty thousand million
dollars in weapons to win the war, to another standing ovulation.

To me the obvious question was which statement was correct?
That we had already won, or that we hadn't.

Congress was applauding not because they believed him, but because both messages
were taken as good news - that we have not wasted our money so far because we have
a victory to show for it, and that there will be another 60,000,000,000 dollars going to
the weapons makers who fund the reelection campaigns of those in Congress.

Logic means nothing to most of those in Congress, only money talks.

As well as not wanting to kill any more than necessary, Pres. Putin is moving slowly in the
vain hope that the West will be willing to negotiate, or Bidden will be impeached, or
there will be some kind of change in the West.

Or maybe the US public will realize the war is lost and not decide to double down on
    our errors yet again.

These assertions need to be documented with credible sources of information.

Most people think all politicians lie, some more than others. The same with government officials. People believe what they want to believe. Most Democrats will believe Biden and company mainly because he’s a democrat. A lot of Republicans won’t, mainly because Biden is a Democrat. Then you have that great unwashed, non-affiliated middle who don’t pay much if any attention. The Ukraine is a long way away from home, so who cares? With rising prices at home, that’s much more important. Trying to get by, meet one’s and one’s family daily needs, watching one’s favorite TV program, rooting for one’s favorite sports team and on and on is much more important to them.

I think if how things were or are going in the Ukraine War, if what your spouting is true, most will just shrug and move on. Most folks are used to government lying to them. Fact is only 18% of all Americans trust their government. It’ll be, so we were lied to, we’re used to that, now go Braves, go Giants, win Cowboys or now who made the final cut of Survivor?
