So then a vote in the House on a clean CR....would be easily defeated by the Republican majority, right????

So why not have it...and get it off the table?!?!?!?

(Maybe somebody should call in to Rush or Hannity and see if they know the answer? :) )

A clean CR would be 2 votes shy in the House.

While the Tea Party CR gets not a single Democrat vote in the Senate.

no, its very possible that a clean CR would pass in the House.

they only need two more GOPers to say yes.

but a Tea Party CR has zero chance of passing in the Senate as no Democrats would vote for it.

I guarantee you there are still atleast 2...or more...."Purple District" Repubs out there (Northeast or Midwest)....who have no fear of a Tea Party primary challenger.

But if such a vote happened....Tea Party "power" would be shown for tha paper tiger it is....and Boehner as a guy who is scared of papier mache wild felines. :)

The Senate has voted again and again on the House bill, and defeated it again and again.

NOW its time for the House to vote on the Senate bill, and let it pass.

why won't Boehner let the House vote on the Senate bill????

    Why even bother?

Psst - Limbaugh and Hannity aren't reps, but go ahead and all 'em. :whisper:

    - - - Updated - - -

Again, you don't have the votes, so it won't pass.

I am willing to bet that if Bonehead let them actually vote on a clean CR, it would get enough votes after a few hours of debate.

So why are you afraid of holding the vote???
    :)

    - - - Updated - - -

I am willing to bet....Talon knows that. So do most of the Tea Partyers in and outside of Congress, which is why they use threats against Boehner to prevent him from allowing such a vote.

"If" it passed....Tea Party political stock would go "Enron".

Be nice if Bonehead would show some damn integrity and just let the House vote on a clean Continuing Resolution that SIMPLY funds the government!!!!!!

    what's he afraid of?

As you may know, a bill that makes major changes to the country's health care system became law in 2010. Based on what you have read or heard about that legislation, do you generally favor or generally oppose it?

    Sept. 27 - 29 2013

    Favor 38%
    Oppose 57%
    No opinion 4%

    Mar 19 - 21 2010

    Favor 39%
    Oppose 59%
    No opinion 2%

I suspect a vote on a "clean" bill in the House would fail miserably. The people didn't want Obama Care 3 years ago and they don't want it now. I am glad to see the Republicans commit political suicide by shutting down the Government before halting Obama Care that 57% still don't want. They are sealing their fate for Nov 2014. Thanks Harry!

I'm glad he won't. Reid hasn't allowed an up or down vote on so very many bills since Jan 2011, it's time for him to eat some of his own crow.

Reid allowed the Senate to vote on the House bill. Several times.

Why won't Bonehead let the House vote on the Senate bill?

    what's he afraid of?

I don't get we'll ever know, because Tanman won't even allow his own members to vote. He's under elitist control.

You "suspect"??? How many Republicans would be needed if all the Democrats in the House voted for it? How many are there now who have announced they'd support a clean CR?

    - - - Updated - - -

I know this may sound crazy, but perhaps Boehner is afraid that....Professor Peabody is wrong?!?!?!?

Not a good idea to actually allow a vote, ey right wing? Government by extortion, and the right approves. Interesting.
