I want to find out if this discussion can deal with the real world and to see if there is meeting space between both sides. I wish it was possible to have posters first announce that they have played a role in abortions or are they just chatting on an issue they never personally dealt with. It makes a difference. Some argue pro abortions who have not one bit of hands on experience. Others saw up close what goes so terribly wrong. A lot do not seem to care that during the process of abortions, discussions happen and consequences ensue. One consequence is the male deeply loves the female and once she has the abortion, she changes from loving him to disliking him and then wanting to get away. She feels a deep guilt. So to think of abortion as having no impact on the woman is clearly incorrect. Few women can kill their child and walk off and feel no guilt.

So please bear with me and spend the time to watch the entire video. See both sides presented as fairly as can happen. If you support abortion, no need to speak. If you have changed your mind, let us know.

    I’m Pro-Life | Change My Mind
Interesting statement. . .I like it. First off, I'm Pro-Choice, but also Pro-Life. So, I guess that needs some explanation. To me, Pro-Choice means I believe in every individual person's right to make any important decision affecting themselves and their own lives for themselves. Pro-Choice is strongly connected to the idea that the very definition of human rights and human freedoms involves the ability to make personal choices. So, Pro-Choice is pro-freedom for any of us as individuals. Also, politically speaking, the Pro-Choice side never insists anyone choose to have an abortion. Pro-Choice supports every individual's right to decide for themselves--either way. It doesn't impose ANY choice on anyone. I privately support doing whatever possible to save lives, fetal and otherwise. But I wouldn't force my views on anyone else. The Pro-Life side has established a long history of imposing their preferences onto all of us, through legal manipulations. Additionally, the Pro-Lifers preach their concerns for the rights of nonviable fetuses, but fail repeatedly to show any concern, love, or compassion for those same children once born. To me, that's hypocrisy. Pro-Lifers also preach about individual rights and how important those are for them, yet they show no concern for the rights of women seeking release from an unwanted pregnancy, and act as if those women really have no rights. Also, Pro-Life supporters claim the conservative political agenda as their own. That agenda preaches the evils of government and advocate for less government interference in our personal lives. Yet, they are the very ones seeking to have government regulations inflict their views about abortion onto every America female, regardless of that female's individual situation. This is NOT in keeping with American values or visions of personal freedom, and I cannot support it. If current Pro-Lifers actually did honor and love and support life itself, for everyone, I'd join their ranks, but their concern is limited to protecting the rights of nonviable fetuses only. Once born, the child and the mother are left to the mercy of their own situation, and Pro-Lifers turn the other way. And, since they are generally affiliated with both fundamentalist religions and political conservatives, they are quick to judge others harshly and first to support new wars which demand we send our children to kill the children of those temporarily identified as "the enemy." There's too much hypocrisy here. I'm uncomfortable with it, and must support the Pro-Choice side because it actually supports the freedoms & dignity of individuals the Pro-Life side only gives lip service to.

Why would I want to change your mind? All I care is that women have the choice. You can be pro life and pro choice.

I support elective abortion rights up till about 3 months.

after that, only if the woman raped, the fetus will cause the woman to die, will cause serious injury to the woman, or the fetus will have severe deformaties/illnesses.

You can be anything you wish...pro-life, purple, etc. as long as you don't try to force your beliefs and practices on others...

How do you propose that the government will decide if it was rape?

Sorry. If you have to resort to an hour long vid to try to make a point, you lose.

Everyone in America would like there to be fewer abortions.

The issue is whether laws against women is the correct approach.

Every decent person on Earth is Pro-Life but most eat animals far more capable and aware than a ZEF.

I suppose that attitude also applies to the distraught mother, totally out of money, has no shelter, no family, who tosses her child into the river off the 200 ft high bridge. She has her belief and we have ours. no point in charging her with murder since charges can't restore life to the dead baby.

And why would it ever take the woman 3 months if she was raped?
You'd think she'd head down to get a medical examination within the first few days after it happened, possibly have a preventative suck-out of the uterus, pop a plan B pill, or a shot of estrogen, etc. At the very least she'd be on the lookout for the slightest signs there might be an issue and would go in for another examination in a few weeks just to be sure there was no pregnancy.

I'm sorry if this is off-topic, but I just have to point this out.

Unless she was raped by a relative, doesn’t have access to facilities to go to, is hit with shame and PTSD after the event and needs time to come forward with it, is a teenager and has hyper religious parents that prevent her from seeking treatment earlier...

It sounds like you think this is all common knowledge!

Maybe you should propose a middle school class that includes teaching kids what they need to do and what their options are if they are victims of rape/incest.

Given that there are states that oppose Planned Parenthood from talking about the options with women who need the information, you should be ready with your arguments!

Well, at the very least, if an exception is made specifically for rape, she should have to demonstrate a plausible reason why she didn't come forward and have it done earlier (like young age in an area where that isn't taught in schools or hyper religious parents, as you said) and the most rudimentary investigation should be done to verify if the reason could at all be plausible.

Translation: You actually don't want the exception to be specifically only for rape.
So in reality, the gestational age limit would be for all women, regardless of rape.
That way you can keep it as high as possible.
