I am a former Democrat and a Liberal. I hate racism, the KKK and Neo-Nazis. Their ideology is pure evil. They deserve no respect. But I am not too proud to admit that there are groups of violent extreme-Left agitators that seek to cause trouble, violence, vandalism. They show up to rallies looking to kick ass and get into fights. And if they have no one to fight, they engage in vandalism, arson, against symbols of Capitalism. They attack banks, Starbucks, McDonalds, and other corporate symbols. They are notorious for causing trouble and mayhem at meetings of the IMF, Bilderberg Group, World Bank, and other world institutions. They created violence at Trump's inauguration. I support anyone who protests against Nazi/KKK. But they have to do it peacefully. We need the moral highground against the Nazis and KKK. Showing up wanting to fight, is no moral highground. Many on the Left feel we must choose between the Nazis/KKK and the Antifa/Anarchists. That's bullshit. I didn't get a college degree to look at the world through such a bi-polar lense. I choose to support NON-VIOLENT protestors, who yell and scream at the Nazis, shout them down, make their voices heard. But I do not support violence. Especially aggressive, unprovoked violence.

Yes, from another former lefty, it was the use of "just cause" to do evil things that turned me off the left. I see this in the attraction if neo-Nazis to causes of free speech, and Google and Antifa to shut free speech down. In all these cases, it's important for us to look past "who" is supporting a cause and look at the merits of the underlying cause. Yep, we have to do homework.
