I am waiting for Native America History Month, Latino History Month, Asian-American History Month
because, y'know they all have unique circumstances different from the voluntary immigrant who came from Europe.

Although I was not so opposed to Black History month way back, I find myself more opposed since Harriet Tubman was tapped to replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill.

Moi says, "Now More Than Ever". Whether feminist, LBGT, this or that - it is time to stop color, gender, sexual preference coded bean counting people of America. Stop Balkanizing America, and unite as one nation, under god ( small g, they were Deist, not Judeo-Christian.) , Indivisible (although I do support CalExit) with Liberty and Justice for all.

Black History Month also corresponds to 31 Days of Oscar on Turner Classic Movies.

I learn many interesting things I never knew before during Black History Month.

And I get the bonus of knowing that I can count on at least one great movie (that I didn't have to browse for) every night of the month!

Where would black history study time rank if we were to start listing and evaluating that list for things that are important enough to focus upon? The protestant reformation would rank much higher, as would the history of Christianity as a whole. How many days do we assign to Aristotle? How about oceanography day? Darwin week! MLK has a day, but Einstein doesn't?
