A good friend of mine (very liberal, in his late 40's) made excuses for the 4 black guys that robbed him (they probably needed the money). Three in the car and one robbed him at his front door with a gun. Of course I had to give him some righteous shyte.

There is a huge difference between excuses and understanding. One can undewrstand but not excuse the crime. And it is obious that some conservatives here cannot tell the difference between an excuse and understanding.

 

So what you are saying is that you don't want your society to understand what factors influence crime.

you are happy with a high crime rate, and think incarceration is always the best option.

Had you any real knowledge of this area, you would be aware that evidence based studies show higher incarceration rates do not reduce crime ... for example, does the US have a far lower crime rate than EU nations?

I have paid for my own insurance for 38 years. I have never collected unemployment or used tax dollars to feed my children. I have paid for my own education. You see, that's where the difference between a moocher and one who is self-sufficient comes into play. You would prefer to put the whole nation of non-workers into my pocket and call it a fair deal. As far as the GI bill goes, that is a contractual arrangement with the US government. I was a serviceman who served during the Vietnam War. so, I worked for that money. I didn't stand around and demand it as an entitlement. I had to fulfill my agreement to get the GI bill. I had to pay taxes while in the service and continued to pay since. In essence, I have paid it forward. Your illegal Mexicans haven't paid (*)(*)(*)(*).......

No. Anyone in the military is hired by the U.S. government for vital service to the people of this nation. Hired for vital public service -- without which the nation would be destroyed -- is in no fluking way whatsoever a handout. Ditto for the G.I bill, which was another form of payment for VITAL services rendered. Why are so very, VERY many leftwingers so utterly confused about this issue?

No body ever gave me anything and I swore never to be beholding to another for my existence. I shoveled crap from stalls, baked, worked in an a oil reprocessing plant, worked in landscaping and home remodeling. I have been a painter and worked as a union glazer.I have worked in the fields next to pickers.
I have always worked for a living and still managed to earn two homes and two cars. I have no mortgage and no credit cards. I am frugal with my money...all of these things Liberals refuse to do.

 

Yes, I recall Obama back in 2008 using the fact that he has attended an Indonesian Madrassa in his youth meant that (paraphrased) he understood Muslims and therefore could equitably dialogue with them to find points of common interests in order to achieve compromise.
