I'm saying that if you don't drop your laziness, bigotry, stubbornness and refuse to even consider the possibility that the other side may have a point, if you don't try to understand them, you will put yourself in a situation you cannot handle.

Yes, I'm threatening you with the possibility of another civil war.
You won't be able to win a war against freedom loving patriots, most of whom are well trained combatants. Even young girls are great shooters. They have the veterans and police force behind them.

If you bring this country to that course, you will lose more terribly.

@ColdTruth Speaking of civil war is always a difficult issue : on a side, it's important to not blind yourself to such possibility, on another side, speaking of civil war may create a self fulfilling prophecy. That's why it's a matter that should always be spoken of with caution.

Are you willing to do as you suggest, "consider that the other side may have a point" or try "to understand them?"
If there is a war you will start it. I am willing to abide by the Constitution and respect the voters.
If there is another war it will not started by "freedom loving patriots." It will be started by traitors (Article III: Section 3) who have abandoned the concepts of the founding fathers to their own advantage.

There is always, at least in this country, a teeny tiny minority expecting chaos and war. Their numbers and loudnesss wax and wane, but there's always somebody.

It got positively maudlin in the 70s, with a bunch of Rambo wannabees building shacks deep in the woods, to ride out the collapse of civilisation. I wonder if any of them are still there.

The funny thing is that the OP even believes that he is an independent and critical thinker.

 

We are already seeing that in the streets of Portland. When Trump wins those idiots are going to go berzerk, bet on it.

 

America has been and still is much, MUCH more than any one President, one Speaker of the House, or one Senate Majority Leader. Either way the upcoming election goes WE WILL SURVIVE. Yeah, nut cases on both sides will do what nut cases are wont to do, BUT WE OUTNUMBER THEM. We have our fun here dissing each others politics and that's fine, but when the fever swamp ravings of the tyranny we supposedly live under begin..... uh, EXCUSE ME? Name ONE politician in the country who holds office by Divine Right or military force. We have ELECTIONS, the winning side crows and the losers whine until the next. It's one thing to be prepared for a hurricane, quite another to wish for one. Who in the name of God would desire to see large swathes of the country look like Syria?
