I think people are viscerally attracted to balance and repelled by imbalance and these guys are clearly unbalanced. I suspect that is causing a division within those that normally vote Democrat and that if they do not have more reasonable folks to vote for, that they will either move toward the GOP, especially if there is a particularly sane GOP choice, or simply stay home, especially if the GOP choice looks like a similar nut, just from the other direction. Now as soon as sensible Democrat shows up, they'll revert, provided a sensible Democrat shows up within 5 or 10 election cycles. These Democrats may prove to be currently disengaged but, they have long histories of of being Democrats and that's the identity they are comfortable with, it's just that right now the party is in the hands inept zealots.

I am completely against warrantless wiretapping, and it was created in late 2001, by Congress, while the Senate was in Democrat control.

The program was ended in 2007 and resumed obtaining FISC warrants, BUT, then in 2008 CONGRESS, under full Democrat control, passed the FISA Amendments Act of 2008, which relaxed some of the original FISC requirements.

And that was while Dems had complete control of both Houses of Congress and the Executive Branch. So do try to get your facts straight before you mouth off. It's not that difficult. You have search bar, try using it.
