*I apologize in advance if this was posted already. I scrolled down the first page and didn't see it posted*

First of all, this would have to be a scary thing to wake up to. Anybody with a child can understand the woman running in there and grabbing her child immediately, because nothing will stop you from putting yourself in harms way to save your children. I commend her for that, very brave.

There are some people saying that this could have been a ghost also, because there are no signs of a break-in (I don't have a source for that), and it was well below freezing that night and this intruder is in short sleeves. At first glance, I thought it was a ghost also, because it looks like an older man that wouldn't be capable of silently breaking in or handling the weather without warmth. Very interesting to say the least. Plus, no suspect has been found.

    Yikes, pretty scary.
When our kids were younger we had some sound only baby monitors, and sometimes you get some wierd sounds through them. On more than a few occasions, I went up to make sure everything was ok after thinking I heard something strange.

    Just two things:

    1. I think we can all agree there are no such things as ghosts, LOL.
    2. Baby monitors on WiFi are hacked all the time and it can be terrifying. It's best to try and use something not connected to the net. There are lots of really bad people out there and you wouldn't believe what goes on with baby monitors, google it and you'll see what's up. Really frightening.....and downright evil.

Somebody here ain't never seen a ghost...

I've heard about the things that can go on with the baby monitors. Thing with this story is, there wasn't even the sign of an intruder breaking in OR out...

Well, the old-fashioned baby monitors were often on the same frequency as cordless phones. We used to hear parts of conversation from our neighbors cordless (Bought the monitor in 1998, so this was 1998 or 1999). I don't think that's quite as much of a problem these days.

If you get a wifi connected baby monitor, just make sure you have a secure wifi network and change the password from the default, to something secure. If you can't change the password on it, get a better monitor.

Ours is a sound only as well, but for now the baby still sleeps in our room. He just hit 6 months old. I've heard things in my house, and I'm not the only one, so I'm really not looking forward to moving the baby into his room anytime soon.

The sound only still pick up CB frequencies, etc... To hack into my WiFi, you'd have to know the 10 digit code on the back. I would think that'd be hard to do. I think they used to use your phone number if you had DSL though.

    Very strange.

Not sure how it can be blamed on wifi hacking since I'm assuming the room shown on the monitor is the child's room, not a different location. How can they hack the man into the room?

When my son was around 3, he very casually told me and his dad about the man in his room who pulled him out of the way before the wooden lid to a toy box fell. He even demonstrated how the man pulled him out the way by tugging the back of his shirt. My son said he was wearing a blue shirt and a hat. He wasn't scared at all, too young to be. He was never a child who played make believe. He is 21 now and has no memory of it. It gave us chills for sure.

I didn't think ghosts were subject to "red eye".

To me, it looks like he is wearing glasses and a light is reflecting on the lens.

The man could have already been in the house without the woman realizing. I've read of multiple incidents of people thinking they were haunted and then it turned out someone had been hiding inside their homes without anyone realizing it.

I don't think this is Wifi hacking. While the frequencies might be readily available, the method of modulating and demodulating the video is almost certainly unknown and someone would have to go through a lot of trouble to figure it out, and if they did, they'd probably do a lot more that put a ghostly picture on a baby monitor. (over simplifying, think along the lines analog vs digital, a digital receiver will see the frequency of an analog signal but will not be able to do anything with it)

Get your house blessed. In my first house (an older house), we used to hear things and have strange things happen (dog hated the dining room and would bark at unseen things in it). Invited our priest over for dinner and to bless the house. The wierdness stopped. I now get every house I live in blessed in the first couple months of living in it. The priests like coming over for dinner :)

    Ok that's creepy.

I've had two experiences myself that were a bit over the top.

If my memory is correct you're familiar with ghost stories and pictures, below, I believe, is one of yours from the past. This pic is based on memory so it might not be the right one.

I think what drives all of us nuts is not knowing what happened, was it a ghost, intruder, equipment malfunction, hoax, or what?

I found a more detailed story.

Several scenarios remain. He's a ghost or he's living in their house or he broke in while nobody was home and then waited to leave or...

Whatever I have in my house has never posed a threat and seems to always like kids. The only evidence ever left behind was the hand print of a child's hand on my bathroom mirror after I'd just cleaned it that day, and a child's footprint on my tile coming out of the same bathroom. It didn't fit any of my kid's hands or feet.

You would be correct... I believe that was in Alabama or something like that... Not knowing exactly what this is makes it creepier by the hour.

There are times that you get interference usually with audio but can happen with video. Thecinterference can cone from nearby monitors or harmonic frequencies feeding into the device. Harmonic frequencies are like parallel frequencies that resonate at frequencies other than the original.

I'll have to look it up later but I remember something I read about a month or so back that a scientist had theorized that when pupils pick up certain frequencies it causes hallucinations. I'm sure I'm butchering the details a little though. I'll have to look up the information later and post the details when I get a chance.

Looks like Grandpa came to visit. Or somebody's grandpa. One time they left a voice-activated tape recorder in a long-abandoned prison cell in Huntsville, Tx. The guards checked the tape next day and heard things....that you wouldn't want to hear twice in one lifetime. Check out the old web site Shadowlands.com. Every month about 100 new sightings are posted from a few countries, mostly the U.S. The most common is grandpa or grandma came to visit one last time. But there are sightings from cops, military MPs late at night in Europe, all sorts of things. Stuff they didn't want to report to their superiors. Shadowlands has accumulated 23 years of sightings from the public. I read their extensive collection in 2002.

Just a quick observation. Assuming the baby monitor camera is on a table of some kind and that's the baby's crib in the background, then the ghostly person would appear to be kneeling down or something.

Well, then why do you feel uneasy about moving the kid out of your room? All I can say is that after a priest blesses a house, it's much calmer.
