It's been thoroughly discussed that a.) its not Speaker Pelosi's job to man protection for the Capitol and that, by and large, the insurrectionists did not enter the Capitol freely. The few that did, only did after the Capitol had been VIOLENTLY over run.

And it absolutely was Pelosi's job to secure the building which is why three bodies of law enforcement had meetings with her to discuss an increase security presence. She told them all to **** off and lib media covered for her by running disinformation and their little 'facts checks'. Some truth to that, for sure. But in the meantime many US citizens have been held in prison in blatant violation of Habeas Corpus, with the blessing of the entire US federal government.

 

You don't know the meaning of Habeas Corpus. ALL of the 1/6/21 insurrectionists, in jail, have been
-Charged
-Arraigned
-Bail has been set OR denied

IF ANY of the 1/6/21 insurrectionists feel they are being held illegally they have the right to Habeas Corpus. One guy did and it was denied, he'd been through the steps above and was not being held illegally.

 

It's possible your claim might be true today, but since this all began your claim is false. Too many people know better, with family and friends being kept in the US Gulag DC City Jail.

Maybe the numbers have changed as some cases appear to have been cleared, either by acquittal/dismissal, or by sentencing.

 

To make that argument you have to explain where my "statement" IS inaccurate. From my perspective it's you deceiving YOURSELF.

 

I don't think so, they are in jail because they were denied bail, and have chosen to draw out the process to trial because they are hoping "it will all go away". They attacked OUR Capitol, this is not going away.

 

It's not really an argument, it is just a comment that other people disagree with your numbers and your view. In the end it doesn't matter, because a man sees what he wants to see and disregards all the rest. The people who disagree with you come across as far more informed. For example, they have actually visited the prisoners in the DC Jail.

I'll take the time to say that I'm pro-choice. And that if being pro-choice is the majority view(and it is), Democrats can run with that on the elections(but do more than run with it, pass the damn law that will certify this on a federal level, once and for all.) The danger of any social civil structure always existed at the hands of a court.(Usually, it was the Liberal courts who wouldn't uphold the civil structures of conservatism.)

 

Good for you.... Democrats could pass a damn law, if unfortunately they didn't have 2 non-Democrats with D's next to their names.

Other that my local elections and defeating whatever MAGA runs for POTUS, watching Krysten Sinema get primary-stomped is going to be the highlight of that election season...

Also, unless severely restructured, the SCOTUS is essentially dead to me, since 3/15/2016.... It was made perfectly clear at that time that this is a hyper-political organization, along the lines of an RNC or Federalist Society....

 

And it wasn't a Liberal-leaning institution since about 1980? We knew a ruling like this was going to come since it's conservative-leaning, but conservatives had been dealt blows in the last 10 years(well, pending on how conservative one goes.) The ACA defeat(wherein Roberts called the fiat a tax, funny how his mind could twist pretzels if it suits an agenda).

And the ultra-religious right lost in Oberefell. These issues will continue to tilt between wins and losses, so long as a liberal or conservative ideologue sits on the court. So just get rid of the court altogether, is my point of view.

 

Excellent decision for the scotus. A great organization full of great people.

But back on topic, the 1/6 protest was a nothing burger and seems to be losing its punch for Dems. They gonna need to actually help people if they want some good arguments for why they should stay in power.

 

Maybe it's my news sources, but I didn't wake up this AM to find dozens of churches vandalized or burned to the ground yesterday? What are you hearing??
