    @Poohbear
Have no idea what you understand as a "world's security". But this is complete true what Iranian Monitor has written. But why this is true? From my point of view, this is so because the USA destroyed Iraq and invited Iran to this country. The USA destroyed Syria and invited Iran there too. The USA allowed Saudis to attack Yemen and the USA supported their invasion - and invited Iranians there too.
This is how the USA "cared" about world's security in the Middle East.

The US did destroy Iraq which made Iran ascendant. We had nothing to do with Assad's mess in Syria and you should look at a topo map of Yemen before judging what's going on in Yemen. The SAG had three years of attacks from Yemen before 2015.

Iran is funding three groups of gangsters in the ME.. Neither the Lebanese nor the Palestinians need that kind of grief.

Due to the fact tht the Houthis are loudl and vehemently insisting they did it and tha Iranians have NO reason to do it, I"m going to out ona limb here and say the Houthiss did it.

OTOH Trump's tiny little balls have been turning cerulean for a war with Iran for some months now...

Yes, today Iraq no longer has WMD's, doesn't invade its neighbors or fires missiles
at Israel, can't control the world's oil and best of all - people can vote.
And we can still have safe passage through the South China Seas.
And Serbs aren't killing Bosnians (not that the Left ever cared) and Russia hasn't
    gobbled up Ukraine yet.
It's a pity - America could have done more for Tibet. And if Russia and China will
continue to thwart nuclear non-proliferation then it should nuclear arm Sth Korea,
    Japan, Taiwan and the Ukraine.

Security is when you draw red lines towards behavior. Not Obama style red lines
but ones like America and England drew after Japan invaded Indo China.
Trump should have struck Iran last month - as it is Iran will keep probing USA's
resolve. And should America have no resolve then Iran will be the great power
of the Middle East, and China the power of Asia and the Pacific.

Iraq was broken by two decades of war and sanctions before Bush invaded.

I would be very suspicious of the story that the attack "originated" from Iran. That would be surprising, as it wouldn't fit Iran's 'modus operandi'. If true, however, it shows Iran isn't afraid of sending its message more directly and more clearly. And I actually do see merit and reason in it.

Otherwise, though, my own assumption would be that the attack was carried out by the Houthis, originated in Yemen, or alternatively was carried out from southern Iraq. In either case, I find it credible (and indeed quite likely) that any drones or missiles used were of Iranian origin.

As an aside, the US already knows about the accuracy and precision of some of Iran's short range ballistic missiles, as they were used with pin point accuracy to take out the headquarters of a Kurdish terrorist group in Iraq being sponsored by the US against Iran. The son of one of the figures killed writes on such matters and described the attack in a column he wrote. But while Iran has claimed that it has developed equally precise longer range ballistic missiles and cruise missiles, more precise in fact than America's Tomahawk missiles, this is something the US (and its military industrial complex) does not want to concede. This might be why they refuse to accept the missiles were fired from Yemen. To accept that, would be to concede that Iran has the reach to take out with precision many other targets of equal distance. And, in a game of chicken, conceding that would be conceding something that will have geopolitical implications. Much of geopolitics is not about actually shooting weapons, but negotiating based on a commonly accepted framework of capabilities which don't have to always be shown.

Otherwise, I don't think Trump is looking for war with Iran. Certainly, those who have the greatest knowledge about what war with Iran would entail, are already telling him to cool it. It is mostly political types, or special interest operatives, who are trying to steer him in such directions.

Why would you be suspicious? Iran has been terrorizing the Middle East for decades via proxy.

The bat **** crazy Mullah's are only to happy to wreak havoc in the region.

It's a radio style talking. I'm not going to argue with this bunch of nonsense.

I just want to point out tat Iraq didn't have WMD long before the USA invasion. Not a single UN investigation team could find anything in Iraq. And not only Iraq fired missiles at Israel, but Israel bomb its neughbours too. Israel destroyed nuclear plant in Iraq in 1981, also bombed the similar facilities in Syria. Israel is not harmless innocent puppy. It's rather evil toothy dog.

For sure, let's give thanks, on our hands and knees, that Hussein and
Assad, didn't get the nuke. For if they did then Iran, Turkey, Egypt and
every other Middle East nation would be making them as fast as Pakistan
did when India got the bomb.
Perhaps you are okay with that. No matter - it's going to happen anyhow.

We have no way of knowing if Hussein had WMD's prior to the invasion.
Even the Russians were convinced that he had. He said he tipped his
chemicals out in the desert but couldn't say where. Maybe you are okay
with that line. I think the money is on him shipping his chemicals to Syria
in those large convoys seen by satellite.

I am not sure what this "radio style" speaking is. Facts are facts, no
matter the style it comes in.

I am not focusing upon how America handles any particular issue, be it
good (1st Gulf War) or bad (2nd Gulf War) I just live in fear of the thought
that it could be Russia or China ensuring our "security" if there is no USA.

Better brush up on the Thoughts of Xi, I think in a generation China will
rule the world. Maybe you are fine with their socialist values. If not, get
    used to them.

Leaving aside the fact that you use the wrong term to describe what Iran does, that is precisely my point: Iran uses what are called "proxies" in the West to carry out its operations against its enemies. It ordinarily doesn't launch missiles and drones from its own territory against a target which comes under the "US sphere". I am not saying it didn't do this time; I just need to see the evidence for it. What I have seen so far only shows that the missiles/drones used were quite precise. And that the distance covered would be greater, if fired from Yemen, than what the US would claim is the reach of Iranian supplied weapons with that kind of precision. In other words, that the US is sticking to its story that denies credibility to Iranian claims that to have long range cruise missiles with exactly this kind of precision, while it cannot deny that for shorter range ballistic missiles which Iran has already openly showed in combat to have such precision.

To give more context to what I am saying, recall two things: first, a few days before Iran shut down America's most sophisticated and expensive 'stealth drone', Iran's claim that it has developed air defense systems that had that capability were ridiculed by this same publication (echoing US Pentagon propaganda) that only a few days before this incident was also ridiculing Iran's claim to have developed long range cruise missiles more precise than those in America's arsenal. Otherwise, if the Pentagon was to give credence to Iran's claims to have cruise missiles with this kind of capability and precision, there is no need to confine the territory from which these missiles were fired to somewhere closer than territory under Houthi control. So, at the end of the day, this might be why the US is insisting the missiles were fired from Iran as opposed to Yemen.

Actually, Russia always opposed the idea to invade Iraq - in the UNSC and in other international institutions.
Actually, Russia in 2003 opposed the idea to invade Iraq - in the UNSC and in other international institutions. Russian propaganda said the Colin Powell's performance in Security Council was a fake, and Russian propaganda was right and true - unlike "free" western media, by the way.
As for "ensuring your security" - maybe you should look at the map? Where is Russia and the Middle East, and where is USA? Also where is South-China Sea, mentioned above, and where is China and USA??? I'm pretty sure Russia is good at securing Syria - despite all differencies with Israel, Turkey, Iran etc. Russia does much better there than the USA.

The Houthis have crippled Yemen and they are a tiny minority. There is no "conspiracy".. The Houthis overthrew the government and chaos ensued. Why do you think a million Yemeni refugees are living in Arabia ? Yemen has always been behind the eightball.. poor and illiterate and lawless.. What has Iran done for Yemen in the past 60 years?

If nothing else (and we do provide humanitarian aid to Yemen), if you believe Iran's enemies, Iran at least supplies the people of Yemen with the means to defend themselves better against the genocide and murder being committed by the Saudis and company.

I would be proud enough of what Iran does in Yemen only if we could publicly acknowledge it. However, to publicly acknowledge it would complicate things for the double-faced states which know what is going on in Yemen, which recognize the justice of what Iran does too, but don't have the fortitude to use even their veto power to prevent the inevitable 'UN security council resolutions" against Iran if we admitted to doing something that other UN resolution have unjustly prohibited us from doing. Namely helping the people of Yemen defend themselves! So those who don't want to see the collection of monstrous regimes and acts being pursued all around the region, but don't have the fortitude to stand up and say so clearly, prefer that others lie and give them an out by clinging to "insufficient evidence" as the basis for opposing various UN type resolutions which they should instead oppose on substance and merit.

Has Iran built hospitals and clinics, schools and colleges and water treatment plants. Have you done anything positive for the Lebanese or Palestinians? Has Iran helped any of the 6 million Syrian refugees return home to Syria?

You mean the claim that Saddam was trucking his WMDs back and forth between Syria and Sudan? That was every bit as stupid as claiming shortbody refrigerated truck were biochemical labs.

Funny, then, how every time there is even the slightest form of genuinely democratic elections, the people Iran supports usually win. Even under occupation, whether in Lebanon, Palestine or Iraq. To defeat Iran's allies at the ballot box, a lot of machinations are used - and those machinations still don't succeed.

Well, there's a few optional opinions
1 - Hussein tipped his multi-billion dollar chemical/biological program out in the desert, somewhere
2 - Hussein sent his investment to Syria where it was used in the civil war.
3 - Hussein didn't have such weapons to begin with and the Americans just wanted his oil (but the Chinese and French got it anyway.)

Take your pick. The money is on the Syrian one, IMO.

Iran has been trucking missiles into Lebanon in contravention of the UN agreement.
Lebanon has somewhere between 130,000 and 150,000 missiles now.

Well, I am not even counting that as part of our humanitarian assistance, which has helped Lebanon avoid what others around it are suffering -- and which it was subjected to in 2006. I was mostly referring to the billions of dollars Iran has spent in Lebanon and Syria on civilian projects of various nature. An expenditure that, especially in times such as these with Iran under sanctions, is hard for Iran to maintain. And which many in Iran are susceptible to opposing in these times. But we are still doing it: spending a lot in these countries, and Iraq, to help their communities rebuild their homes and better cope with the humanitarian effects of the war and misery brought to them by US/Israeli driven policies.
