Politico published a story describing what could easily be seen as huge tax dodging maneuvers by two of the GOP's largest supporters, the Koch Brothers. Much of their money goes towards GOP causes such as climate science argument smearing, deregulation of business and banks, etc. All those things that work better than viagra for exciting neocons.

    From Politico:
Now that in itself is the norm and everyone expects this tomfoolery muddying and destruction of democracy by rich ass wipes. What's really interesting, though, is the actual IRS related issues in light of the GOP members STILL citing the non-scandal of the IRS 'targeting' Tea Party groups (even though they equally targeted 'Occupy' groups as well and overall, it wasn't targeting at all, but merely grouping similar organizations to make processing go quicker) because these two guys have literally been screwing the pooch on this one.

Okay, so Freedom Partners is really a PAC, but operates as a trade association in order to hide it's donors? According to the tax code, political action committees must operate under non-profit status, not trade association. So they were playing both sides of the fence...taking tax breaks for non-profit donations and then turning around and using law to hide the identities of the donors?

So in essence, the owners of the GOP (what else would you call them?) violated IRS tax codes for their own personal AND political benefit. So what was the purpose of the GOP tax non-scandal when it clearly didn't even do it's job correctly by identifying this blatant misrepresentation under the tax code?

I know some of you are like, 'so what? It's just two rich punk assess still pretending their above the law'. And I'm in agreement with you on that. However, considering how much of a 'scandal' the GOP tried to fuel with the IRS 'targeting', I thought it's interesting to note that people who support the GOP, or rather own them, committed one quite large tax fraud.

But hey, Obama still sucks, right? :ignore:

Here's a link to the full article. It also touches some on democrat superPACs as well, but seemingly only at the insistence of Freedom Partner's lead organizer, Marc Short.

Personally, this is one of the reasons PACs shouldn't have unlimited donations with no ceiling on individual contributions. It's muffling the voice of the people and serves as a loophole to legalized bribery and it's perverting our political system. Both R and D supporting superPACs are guilty and if I discovered a genie that would grant me 3 wishes, removing excessive private money from politics would be one of those three.

Instead of it being so obscure, we need to make donations visible the moment one is made. No point in waiting until after an election to know who paid for what.
