A simple 'yes' or 'no' question, posed after a similar poll question was asked concerning whether or not forum members think that 'Trump' is mentally ill.... You may make a single choice, and it cannot be changed. Results will be displayed only to those who vote, and the votes will be displayed publicly. Also, feel welcome to elaborate on your opinion of Joe Biden's degree of mental illness (if any), senility, dotage, or instability.
It's some brand of dementia. He's simply been caught too many times vacantly staring into space, forgetting that he's running for the presidency rather than for the senate, that today is not the year 1819, and so forth and so on. How the hell the DNC is thinking that they and their MSM can protect Joe Biden once he and Trump enter the debates phase of this, escapes me.
In the sense that senility is a form of mental deterioration, and/or possibly illness, YES, Joe Biden is "mentally ill". His demonstrated, very public, obvious mental instability goes dangerously beyond the old-guy paradigm of "Damn it, I lost my car keys -- again!" Moreover, his thought processes themselves are so disjointed and rambling that he often seems unable even to construct a simple series of coherent English sentences of more than about five or six words. It's OK if people are like this in a 'rest home', but not (NOT) in the Oval Office! . "Yeh, but I know how to say 'son-of-a-bitch' in Ukrainian...!"
Not mentally ill. Just slowing with age, having difficulty with recall and staying on point. I may be wrong, but I do think it's sufficient to affect his ability to govern or lead. Time will tell.
Often the DNC has a fair amount of success getting their media outlets to play the game with voters of "This is NOT what your lying eyes and traitorous ears are telling you is happening," but this time, and over the course of a presidential contest full of important appearances and lengthy speeches and debates? I . . . don't . . . think . . . do. Naturally our leftists are now defaulting to "This is how foot-in-mouth Joe has always been!" rebuttals; but among the -- oh so vital -- political independents, it's highly unlikely that the messaging is going to work on them over the course of the next six months . . . not with Joe proving nearly every time he gets in front of a camera lens that he definitely belongs inside a rest home.
I keep saying it, and I really do believe it -- the Democrats would have had two very formidable, articulate, intelligent candidates in Andrew Yang and running-mate, Tulsi Gabbard. A two-fisted powerhouse! As it is, it'll be pitiful ol' Joe and, most likely, Amy Klobuchar.... So, if they would find ol' Joe drooling in a corner, Amy could take over.... Well, if you're a Democrat, looking on the bright side, at least Klobuchar isn't mentally 'challenged'. Sure, she's a hyperliberal, Upper-Midwest lib (same town that Ilhan Omar was elected in, Minne-ehh-polis), but she can reliably tell you what CENTURY it is...!
I created this poll to create a balance! Two days ago, a poll here in the forum was created asking "Is Trump mentally ill?" Be sure to visit it, too. Your enlightened commentary would no doubt enhance that thread, too....
I will admit that Andrew Yang and running-mate, Tulsi Gabbard as a presidential ticket, would be tempting as hell.
No, I don't think he is mentally ill. He is old - even a little older than I am - and many of us seniors suffer some delay in accessing memory. It happens to me fairly often but Biden is further down the road in this respect than I am. I often struggle to find worlds that would come to me instantly just a decade ago. I see the same thing in Biden. A sign of age. Nothing more. He can reason just fine. He just has problems finding the right words to communicate efficiently.
No, not mentally ill, but clearly suffering some level of dementia. That's why the Trump-Biden debates will be so entertaining! I'm wondering how Biden's team plan to get out of it?
I think both Trump, Biden (and Nancy Pelosi too) are a little mentally slower and duller due to their advanced age. However, it's somewhat worse with Biden. And under normal circumstances, 73 would probably be a little too old to be running for President of the United States. However, both Bernie and Biden happen to be about the same age, not that much older than Trump. That is, age can only be considered a factor when you're talking about relative differences, which there is not, everyone in this group is about the same. And yes, I think even Bernie may not be quite as sharp and on the mark as he used to be. In recent years he's said some really whacky things that I don't think he would have said 15 years ago.
No. He is an evil man -- a rapist himself and a crusader against Presumption of Innocence for others. Please do not use Mental Disability as an insult. I have Autism -- I am not less human then normal people.
You like it one way, with one viewpoint, from one information pool, without any contravening data for comparative perspective. Enjoy life in your 'bubble'....
Stupid is stupid left or right. Your response shows your intent was not balance but to troll. Go away troll.
He comes across as doddery, Trump by contrast comes across as stupid but sharp. Trump vs Biden in any candidate debate will be a bloodbath.
Trump will lay into Biden like a monster chainsaw over his blatant corruption for-fun-and-profit in Ukraine and elsewhere. Poor ol' Joe will probably get so flustered that he'll 'soil his trousers'.... . "What century is it, Joe...?!"
He's old and he needs to go away. He has no business trying to be President at this stage in his life since it's pretty certain he would really have issues finishing even 1 term.
Nah, he just is prone to gaffs, just like Trump. But Trump has an advantage there. Dems will pay attention, at least partially, to Biden's gaffs. Trump's followers will not consider his gaffs at all.
Maybe they can ask Trump more about the airports we captured during the Revolutionary War? Or the oranges of the investigation?
