How is one counseled to stop a 2nd or more marriage they are in. They counsel them to get divorced yet again?
I keep brining it up because gays are a small small minority and fail in comparison to the christian adulterers.
Yet, never a thread about adulterers. I've never seen one.
Why aren't you focusing your efforts on the greater sin.
BTW its only sins to christians. Not every person is a christian.

Did I make that claim? No.
Now I didn't prove nothing for you. Because you just make stuff up.
So you proved my point, you hate all gays because of a few outspoken type.

Too lazy to seek out the truth yourself? You could have done it in less time than it took to write that post, that tells me you just want to argue and not seek the truth.

The number of gay supporters has peaked. Now that its moved from "gay equality" to LGBT equality, and now that there is more coverage of the people persecuted by the gays and the impact on religion is more visible, people are rethinking their support. Events such as an 8 year old "transgender" wanting his use the girls bathroom are so beyond the norm that people see them as bizarre and issues of failed or incompetent parenting, not equal rights.

And the Oregon Christian bakers being driven from their business and facing a massive fine is no longer popular with people. They used to say the bakers should have just made the cake, its just a simple cake, but that logic works the other way - people are now thinking that the penalty is grossly extreme for something as mild as not baking a cake, bankruptcy and $135,000 fine just for a cake?

The tide is turning. Two years ago I supported "gay equality", even in this forum, until the Brendan Eich persecution opened my eyes that its not at all about equality.

Christians do hold the key to morality, what you have wrong is that they do not want to force it upon you. Christianity is totally voluntary, nobody can make the decision for anybody else. But also recognize that when someone tries to force Christians into non-Christian positions, Christians will fight back. If the fight is in the legal and political realm, then Christians will use that realm to fight back.

If you don't like the billboards, put up your own ad. Start your own radio station. Change the channel. When they want to talk to you, say "No thanks" and go about your business. And you only see it from your perspective because that's the way you live. I know Christians who live in very secular places who complain to me about how intolerant their neighbors are, who have been threatened with being fired for having a crucifix or Bible on their desk. Its a 2 way street, the good and bad go both ways.

Because you have not seen it does not mean it does not exist.

Sin is sin, it does not matter if its committed by one person or 1 million.

You don't see the work regarding adultery because you don't seem to live among Christians. Christians having marriage problems are counseled in attempts to save the marriage. Christians are counseled in the teen years to prepare them for dating and marriage, couples are counseled before marriage (in some churches its mandatory if they are going to be married in that religion) so they can examine themselves and hopefully not make a mistake and marry the wrong person. Despite that effort some will get divorced anyway, in those cases the church moves on and tries to help both parents and children cope and recover.

Why would a Christian create a thread in this secular forum about Christianity and adultery? I can talk face-to-face to a number of people about the problem, people with religious and real-world experience, what would I get of any substance on the topic in this forum?

Its the basis of your argument - 2 wrongs make a right, if one persons is bad then its OK for the other to be bad. Gays can persecute any religious person because at some point in history some religious person did something bad, but that's not even revenge, that's just an excuse to hate.

So you believe support for gay rights has peaked, currently at 62%, yet when you look at age characteristics individuals born after 1981 support gay rights by over 3/4s it seems those born between 1928-1964 (support at less than 30%) are the single factor that weighs down the trend. Which age bracket seems to be gaining vs losing members more rapidly?

The new strategy by social conservatives is to equate gay rights to straight male phedophiles attempting to dress up like women to rape their 8 year old daughter. Sorry, I don't see the similarities.

I have agreed that the fine was excessive - most logical people see that the state is responsible for the amount, not any gay person. The fine was due to the violation of equal access and non-discrimination ordinances and only after the state had excused all other options. If one event is enough for you to drop support for a cause then I doubt your support was true at all, and Mozilla as a company made the decision that their representatives should actually represent the goals of the company - Mr Eich did not.

    I disagree

No you are too lazy or inept to post an explanation.

I don't believe anything happened to him, you claimed something did it's your burden to prove it did.

It isn't my job to prove your claim. You call me lazy that is just funny.

I have no interest in proving your claim. I doubt it. Everybody should, further I looked on Wikipedia it said nothing about it.

LOL. I don't live among christians. You continue to make up stuff. LCMS for all of my life. Most all my family is same. I just haven't participated the last few years.
So you continue with being wrong.

Why do you continue with making up stuff. Where is my argument 2 wrongs make a right? No where.
But I do notice you didn't correct me about saying you hate all gays because of a few outspoken types.

I had to definitely reassess my 'faith', once I figured out that I wasn't going to be able to turn-off being gay.

And while I didn't want to do it by any means, I had to literally question traditions and what I'd been taught. I hardly wanted to see imperfections in my Christian faith/traditions. Certainly, I saw massive flaws in the ways that many wielded the religion they had; so MANY horrible people, walking around with "Christian" pasted upon their foreheads. All about the rules they knew... but virtually nothing like Christ (especially where it concerned how they dealt with homosexuals).

I didn't set out to find 'hypocrisy', but I couldn't help but notice how rampant it clearly was. If found that Christians and other religious people were still 'human'. No, not any more/less 'human' than the gay people they often and literally put down and socially tormented. As a Christian myself, the PAIN of seeing my faith tested AND me being essentially rejected by many who claimed to be of Christ... was nearly unbearable. Love eventually won out... and I'm alive today to tell the story.

Overall, I've noticed that in so many ways and for so very long... gay people have been scapegoated by religion and the religious. They have been an interesting and effective target, for many. But the truth is, gays don't deserve what's been dumped on them by the scores of people who are just as flawed/human as they are.

I hope more and more people catch onto that reality; I hope and pray for that.

I'm attracted to woman, but it is still a choice to act on it. Spin it however you want, but through faith and prayer, and help from other people, instead of just ridiculing him/her a person can overcome such abomination's. I will admit I was one of these people, however I understand that I myself sin, and no sin is worse than the other. So I don't claim I am better, but rather would spread the word, and message of God/Jesus. It is one thing to have people know that it is a sin, and than choose. It is entirely different to raise the next generation, not even knowing it's a sin, and totally accepted by society. This is the only problem I have. At least let them know and than they can choose. Because it is a choice to act on it. And without acting on it, overtime I am sure that the interest or attraction will go away.

Did you know there are people that go to their death a virgin. I am positive they have had lot's of attraction's and sexual thought's. But chose not to act.

Sexually repressed individuals are not healthy individuals.

Since we have no psychological evaluations of the individuals who set down the words
in the Bible, we have no way of determining if said individuals we mentally healthy individuals, or
in their concept of "sin" in this case is not merely a projection of their sexual inhibitions.

I used to be more like Battle. Didn't really understand anything about gays. Then I had a chat with one who was a distant aquaintance, but for a few years I avoid any type of contact. After that discussion, I realized it's not a choice, his words, why would anyone choose to be tormented like gays get tormented if it was a choice. Opened my eyes.
Gays are part of human spectrum, there is no 100% all male, or female, there are many varying shades of gray between those to distinct classes of sexes and sexual attractions.

Heck, there are differing levels of masculinity and feminism. But many people still choose to remain ignorant. I think, in some cases, it's because they are afraid to admit that they may not be hetero and are fighting it with every ounce of energy.

Sure over time. Just like as you age your sexual attraction and drive will go away towards females. But you might be 60, 70, 80, or more years old.
And there are many people who aren't christian. They should not be forced to live by your standards, no matter how wrong your standards are.
And the fact you still call it abomination shows just how brainwashed you really are. For you either bought some BS or you have no clue what is said in the bible, in particular, the NT.

Please don't fall from the conversation at hand. "Is it a choice" is what we was talking about. Your hatred towards me has nothing to do with the conversation. I am not against gay people, I would much rather try and find common ground. I try to love everybody. But the fact of the matter is, it is absolutely a choice. And besides what is wrong with the fact that it is a choice? Why so hostile over such a weak, disagreement? One thing life has taught me, in almost every situation where there is a disagreement, the party that relies on hate, and foul words is most often the one that is wrong.

You make it sound as if you know everything, "since we have no psychological evaluations". Everybody uses the excuse of man wrote the Bible. When in fact, God wrote the Bible. He gave words, and visions to the authors. Do you not think that, such word's and vision's would strike so much fear, that they felt they had to write exactly what God wanted wrote in the Bible. God created everything, do you not think he could keep his word holy, and true.

Deception comes from the most evil, satan, it is on a level of which you could not comprehend. So take heed in which you think you know. For the greatest knowledge a man can endure, is the knowledge of God's word.
For the elite decide, our college and educational programs in which we receive our degree's. That my friend is absolutely written by man. On top of that, they are only going to teach you what they want you to know. This way their seed can stay in power. And deceive the masses, so they can have their ultimate goal. Power, riches, the world, and the absence of God.

You are way to emotional to have an adult conversation on this.
You've handed out personal attacks, now you claim I hate you. Too funny.
You've used abomination at least 2 times, but you can't back it up because you made it up or been brainwashed into believing it without doing due diligence.
And the fact of the matter is, the attraction and urges are not a choice. Believing so is more brainwashing without doing due diligence.

And that is why I called your emotional reactions as sign of you having no case.
Here, in case you forgot your personal attack.

You know who the ruler of earth is? The devil according to many who read the bible.
Do you know that the devil is a great deceiver? He could have tricked people into thinking he was God and got them to write stuff down.
You also know it wasn't written as the bible. That was concocted by a man, Constantine. A person who at the time, didn't believe or even like God. But needed a way to control the people.
Have you done any study on how all this religion started?

Believe and adhere to the same as you will. But reality is that not everyone believes as you do. I think that faith can affect some things in a person's mind, but certainly not all.

Again, you are free to believe as you will; once you suggest imposing or actually seek to impose your beliefs upon others... you might as well be at war; because everyone does not adhere to YOUR beliefs. Religion is a personal thing.

Have you done any study on or in the Bible? Constantine had nothing to do with the writing of the Bible. Are you taking somebody's word on that, or did you study it?

I would love to enlighten you, but I feel as if you would just be taking someone's word again.

What color you paint your house is a choice.
What you order at a restaurant is a choice.
Deciding to have sex or not is a choice.
Sexual orientation has nothing to do with "choice".

Examining it by age bracket has nothing to do with support peaking. People change their minds at all ages.

Young people also support freedom of religion and freedom of speech, those are the rights that are being directly impacted by the gay/LGBT activists. That conflict was discussed in the SCOTUS gay marriage oral arguments and in the dissenting opinions. That conflict over rights, the hatred demonstrated by the gay mob, and the excessive penalties demanded by the gay mob are what is changing peoples minds. In other words, the gays are doing it to themselves - as I have been saying for some time now.

The man responsible for setting the fine (elected official Commissioner Brad Avakian) is blatantly pandering to the gay mob. The fine is wildly excessive compared to precedent, the penalties are far out of proportion to the mild inconvenience suffered by the gays who could not get a cake from the Christians but just went down the street and got another cake.

And I supported gay equality until the Brendan Eich episode, that was the final straw that convinced me that the gay mob was lying about simply wanting a "place at the table".

If I have offended you, I am sorry. People seem to think that the gay community is constantly ridiculed, and made fun of. However they are fully in favor of the masses and leaders of this country. If you research this site alone, you will see that it is the Christians, who are hated and ridiculed, and in most parts of the country persecuted. We can't have the Ten Commandment's in the courts, or public building's, but they can light the White House up with the rainbow, an actual sign of God's promise. So if I have been a little to emotional I am sorry, it is because I see the vanishing of God and his word. And no matter what anybody says, the country is vanishing with it. It is not that I hate gay's, for they are God's children as well. And God will never abandoned any of us, rather we have to abandoned him. And that is what is happening all across the globe.

The gay's that help to destroy God's word, is what I dislike.

Your attitude and arguments are clearly those of a person who does not understand Christianity. "LCMD for all my life" means nothing, many people are in a church or go to church or are in a family that goes to church, but never read the Bible and never try to understand what it means, and it does not mean you live among Christians.

When you try to justify the Christian persecution by gays by saying Christians did bad things, you are saying 2 wrongs make a right, and that its simply revenge by the gays.
