Is it me or are liberals now routinely anti Christian and anti Semitic?

Plenty of raping and murdering went on after Jesus under the 1000 years of terror perpetuated by Christianity. The Catholic Church was much more oppressive ... folks had much more individual liberty under the Romans than under the Christians.

    That's not completely true.

Cooperation is imperfect, but it is too often underrated. People with different views frequently come to reasonable consensuses and compromise. That's part of reality too. Even so, there are the 'extremists' who would seek to "annihilate" others. I say better if those few extremists were marginalized, as readily as possible.

True, different groups can, and have comprimised. But personally, I don't think it resolves anything. And cooperation is only temporary. Also, it does little to aid peace of mind for some individuals within the population. For things to really improve, there has to be one type of right and one type wrong. And one type of many other things as well. The "extremists", whether I agree with their particular views or not, seem to have the better idea. To unite, or make safe a world for their people, and their's alone. (Safe I suppose can also relate to other things besides physical harm. Unfortunately, there's no one word in the English language for "non-emotionally upsetting or bothersome." So I suppose "safe" will have to do for now)

100% illiterate and ignorant of course and part of liberal anti christian, anti semitic lunacy. Rome was based on military conquest of the civilized world, plunder, and slavery while Christianity was based on peace and love. Amazing how a liberal gets everything backwards.

    [QUOTE="james M, post: 1069453660, member: 66281" Luther taught individual liberty to billions![/QUOTE]

Repeating the same falsehood over and over will not make it any less false.

    .

So when the Jews did not convert and Luther wanted them to .. he writes his famous book "On the Jews and their Lies"

You have a very warped idea of what respect for religious freedom - individual liberty is all about.

Yes James - Making torture legal for people who disagreed with the Church - or just had an idea they did not like - or in many cases people were tortured because some Bishop wanted to steal their land = a great example of peace and love.

The Church loved slavery in many different forms, from direct slavery to the Feudal System. Such peace and Love.

During WW2 the Catholic Church was all to happy to side with Adolf and resume one of their favorite pastimes .. persecution of the Jews and others considered "heritics" such as Orthodox Serbs.

Ivan Šarić, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Vrhbosna in Sarajevo, supported the Ustaša, in particular the forcible conversion of Orthodox Serbs to Roman Catholicism. His diocesan newspaper wrote:

The loving God of the Christians - according to this Archbishop (and numerous others shared his passion for love) - is behind the movement to "liberate" the world from the Jews.

If I said that I'll pay the liberal $10,000?? Bet or run away with your liberal tail between your legs yet again. The liberal has learned 34 times that he is wrong so uses a strawman in total desperation only making his loss more pathetic.

If the church made torture legal in a significant way of course the entire Protestant Reformation would have been impossible. Luther disagreed massively with the Church. Did the liberal even know that much?

So???? Christianity was created as a war against the Jews who killed Christ and Christianity. Not surprising it took a while for the wounds to heal. Tell me the liberal didn't know that either???

I'm so surprised then that John Locke and other Enlightenment thinker who created America loved Christianity and not Rome and its Colisum morality wherein average citizens would go to watch, for entertainment, innocent people being eaten alive. I wonder why Christianity argued against these Roman values that the liberal loves so much?

Jesus created the individual who previously had been harshly repressed under the thumb of authoritarian rulers. Do you understand now?

Pastor Don's Blog: How Jesus invented individual liberty

Jul 7, 2013 - My thesis is that the entire idea of individual liberty was invented by Jesus of Nazareth. Literally no one in the world, Jew or Gentile, had ...

I'm just happy that everyone doesn't have your mindset. Things change, and people are OFTEN the catalyst for the same. Whether that means certain people live, die or invent solutions... things can/do change for the better.

Not sure where most of this rambling nonsense came from but it is clear that your knowledge of history is lacking.

Pope Innocent III issued a papal formally legalizing torture in the 13th century. Inquisitions existed prior to that by Bishops on a local level but the Papal Inquisitions was a higher order of evil.

Yes James .. it was your beloved Dominican monks - those idolize as purveyors of individual liberty - that were evil incarnate.

    http://www.cathar.info/cathar_inquisition.htm

The Catholic Church were the pioneers of modern totalitarian techniques and devised the most horrible forms of torture imaginable.

I have always agreed that Jesus was a promoter of individual liberty.. not sure why you insist on preaching to the choir.

I have no clue what you mean by "Jesus created the individual" ...

You have been reduced to gibberish once again.

Here are more examples of the loving and peaceful Church in its quest for individual liberty.

LOL .. Christianity was far worse than the Romans in relation to their legal system ... there was no such thing as "innocents" once the Church had you in custody.

oh really did Christianity have a Roman/Nazi legal system based on conquering the civilized world, plundering it, and enslaving those it did not kill? See why we say liberalism is based in pure ignorance?

it would be like saying here are examples of humans who committed crimes and ignoring all those who didn't.
Do you want examples of every orphanage hospital or alm Christians were responsible for?? Every one of the billions who took the great commandment "love thy neighbor as thyself" seriously after learning it?? See why we say liberalism is based in pure ignorance?

before Jesus there were no individuals. Everyone was a cog in the Roman machine, not an individual with the freedom to choose. Now do you under stand?

The Roman Justice system had nothing to do with the plundering and enslaving. Pure ignorance is making this false dichotomy ... and of course you have no knowledge of the Roman Justice System ... not having knowledge of which you speak is normal .. I know.

Here is the Justice System under the Catholic Church.

Now where do you think the word "habeas corpus" comes from ? hmmmmmmm ... ;)

Why do you keep ending every sentence with "liberals are ignorant" when liberals have nothing to do with the topic. You have a problem ... seriously.

Regardless .. The Church was not doing a whole lot of "loving" during the 1000 years of horror. Your attempts to apologize for this evil is somewhat sickening.

And the apologies you to try to come up with are beyond inane ... Hitler/Stalin/Mao did some good things to ... That does not detract from their evil.

When a religion tells you that you derserve eternal punishment for simply having a different perspective, it isn't any better than liberalism.
