It does not matter how many threads you start or how many times you repeat this stupidity. Atheism remains, by definition, not a religion. The same way not playing baseball isn’t a sport. Sorry.

Yes and no. Atheism doesn't have a Deity it worships. that's true. But many large religions, Buddhism., Tao, Confucianism, don't have Deities either. However, atheism does require Faith since there is no real proof that God doesn't exist either.

atheism is the lack of belief in a god or gods. That's it. That is in no way a religion.

Really? Tell me, what would an individual be engaging in if most of his thoughts revolved around hate, destruction, and violence?

I think that strong/affirmative atheism, atheism that actually makes the claim that God doesn't exist, can require faith, but it isn't really necessary. There's lots of things we can't prove don't exist, but it doesn't really require faith to deny their existence. Things like Russell's teapot, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and the Invisible Pink Unicorn come to mind, but it is easy to come up with many more.

Strong atheism typically depends on the following sort of reasoning:
    1) If God exists, there would be evidence of his existence.
    2) There is no evidence of God's existence.
    3) Therefore, God does not exist.

A simple modus tollens. It has two premises, but I think we'd have to broaden the concept of "faith" to the point of absurdity to say that either of those premises are faith-based.

That has no relevance to anything I’ve said.

That’s the problem... you really haven’t said anything. All your replies consist of the 1-3 words.

I've said plenty, and directly refuted the premise of the OP. Atheism is by definition, not a religion. Sorry.

    thats a false premise LOL

I will correct it for you:

    1) If God exists, there would be evidence of his existence.
    2) I have not seen evidence of God's existence.
    3) Therefore, God does not exist.
3a) Therefore I lack belief God exists

In each case the number of Gods believed in is 0, so strong or is 100% meaningless
You have no proof what so ever that there is no evidence of gods existence

Therefore the belief that god does not exist rests entirely on 'faith'

I covered the fact that people could quibble about the premises. Feel free to play around with absurdities like the above.

This argument has already been destroyed by counterexample that you have failed to confront. If true, then the distinctions between any and all people who are not theists would be meaningless. The distinction between you and the "neo-atheists" you loathe would be meaningless.

You have spent years on this forum passionately arguing that the distinctions between certain not-theists are profoundly meaningful. You don't actually believe the argument you are making.

The flaw is your assumption that the only thing that could be meaningful would be the number. If true, this would also mean that all monotheists are basically the same and that the differences between, say, a Catholic and a Suffi are only semantic. Their number is, after all, the same.

Only for definitions of "faith" stretched to the point of meaninglessness. Like why you stretch the definition of religion to the point that it includes baseball fandom.

I’m sorry you can’t accept reality. That won’t make it go away though.

You have yet to represent so much as just one solitary argument that I make remotely the same as I present them, apparently the subject matter is above your pay grade, or they are strawmen designed to troll.
I failed nothing I rejected responding to it until we get past understanding and applying grammar 101, we have yet to do so.
Your typical oversimplification of my positions to the point its laughable. Have to be over your paygrade, cant think of any other reason to have this problem.
Its a bold faced lie for anyone to say there is no evidence of Gods existence. Did you check under the rock by the crater on pluto? How do you know God is not hiding there laughing at you?
Faith is ANYTHING you believe that you cant prove ffs.
That again is your oversimplified understanding, again it sounds like its just another issue beyond your pay grade.

This is great thought because the reason this thread was created was to prove neoatheists are irrational, and there is no shortage of proof!

What do you expect from someone who posts the definition proving that one of several of the definitions of religion is someone who worships a deity, then sings from his soapbox every few posts that proves atheism is not a religion, while ignoring that 800 pound gorilla sitting on his head, all the other definitions that include no deity and define atheism as a religion.:spin:

secular humanists lack belief in any god, they are even recognised by the gov as a religion.

To conclude that proving deity worship [theism] is a religion means atheism [lack of belief in god] is not a religion is top shelf loony logic.

I've presented them in exactly the same way that you have, on at least a couple of occasions almost entirely verbatim.

    Completely untrue.

Just to let you know: this is another one of your "tells" for when you don't have an actual argument.

I care about this meaningless quibbling about as much as I did in my last post. It hasn't changed.

I can't prove that you aren't a leprechaun, but to say that this is the same kind of "faith" that someone has that Jesus has risen and will raise them from the dead one day as well is complete nonsense.

    The tell returns.

Predictions for next "response": Another complete evasion, another failure to defend your argument that you will try to pass off as being someone else's fault, fake claims of victory, and another emoji. Rinse, repeat. Never any real debate or discussion or even attempt to defend your own position, which is to be expected since you hold mutually exclusive positions.

I have never argued that belief in god is necessary for religion. Ever. I have stated exactly the opposite every time we've had this discussion. Every. Single. Time. I've told you that there are atheist religions. Stop making **** up.

you are confusing me with rahl.

I have sufficiently argued every point I made, if not in this thread in others.

bullshit, you have no clue what an agnostic is, you posted your ****ed up version in this thread claiming it was my position, and I rejected it since as usual you got it all wrong.

Certainly not in this one. How many Gods does someone who is not a theist believe in? 2? 4? 50?

Why are you trying to dredge up the forbidden word again? You whined that I shouldn't use it in this thread, so I stopped using it, and here you are bringing it up again.

Make up your mind, is it allowed or not?
