The Quran doesn't say any specific ages. It says the Universe was created in 6 days/periods. These days or periods, however, span thousands of years. Not a 24-hour day we have today. It doesn't say how long ago the creation began, or when it finished. But most Muslims believe it's older than the Biblical account.
Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). These (today) only wait for a single mighty Blast, which (when it comes) will brook no delay. They say: "Our Lord! hasten to us our sentence (even) before the Day of Account!" Have patience at what they say, and remember our servant David, the man of strength: for he ever turned (to Allah). It was We that made the hills declare, in unison with him, Our Praises, at eventide and at break of day, And the birds gathered (in assemblies): all with him did turn (to Allah). We strengthened his kingdom, and gave him wisdom and sound judgment in speech and decision.
The Saudis are destroying the ancient muslim artifacts in Mecca. Is that a good or bad idea? [h=1]The Saudis are bulldozing Islam's heritage. Why the silence from the Muslim world?[/h]http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/d...ritage-why-the-silence-from-the-muslim-world/
brilliant to say the least, from my point of view. ie.... them good, are supporting 'the name' (definition of ... 'god' if you so speak) 'the key' (egyptian) they just didnt read the literature. it all says, follow the rules (commands-egyptian) and await (prophecies). and that universal quest is understanding. always has been and we all are capable that's what so freaky and can actually cause the new and wipe out ignorance; knowledge defining what the '''beep''' we are. it's so stupid easy, that once you wake up, your on your own for your results. .
Say: "If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
I have an interest in mythological creatures and I know that the Quran mentions jinn or genies as if they are real things. I also know that jinn were part of local folklore pre-Islam. They are never mentioned to exist in the Bible at all however. Do you think that the mention of jinn/genies has more to do with old cultural folklore still persisting even after Islam became more prevalent and that's why they are mentioned in the Quran but not in the Bible or Torah/Talmud? Do any Muslims really believe jinn/genies are real?
to follow is to just 'follow the rules' and live learning is a part of the process, evolve but be fair as far as my post above....... many have lost the concept of what 'the name' is. The quest.
Jinn are creatures created with fire by Allah. Like us, they have free will to do good or bad. For the most part they are seperate from humans (we can't see them) but sometimes our world's meet. Satan is a Jinn, according to Islamic teaching. When you hear genie, do not confuse it with the rub-the-lamp-and-get-three-wishes type of thing from Alladin. In the Bible they would probably be equivalent to demons. The Quranic narrative is that Solomon (pbuh) used Jinn to build the temple. The Biblical account says he used demons. I think the concept of Jinn are similar to demons in Biblical and Torah teachings. But, like demons, they can possess people. We have exorcisms in Islam. But the word Jinn is used in some Arabic translations of the Scriptures. Jinn means "hidden" in Arabic. Yes, we believe they were created by Allah SWT. Like humans and angels. If you'd like i could go into more detail on Jinn,,including some videos of exorcisms (discretion is advised). (I realize my response is all over the place.)
For most Muslims, Islam helps us along the quest. Our goal is to live a life of righteousness on the Earth, and enter the gates of Jannah (Paradise). The rules are the established in the Quran and Sunnah.
Any questions ask about Islam is always treated by Muslims as hatred towards Islam, the first thing is Muslims must open their eyes, ears and mind if not they will just always walk in blindness. There are many questions the main one is why Muslims do not accept Jesus Christ is the Son of God what proof do they have that Jesus is not the Son of God? Remember, the words of Allah to Mohammed consult with the people of the Book, why didn't Mohammed did just that? If Mohammed did not consult with the people of the Book how can we be sure that what he has reveal is the truth?
funny most of the posts are encouraging shut up we are all gods children, equally. talking about torah (the lettered) (commands) he wasnt the last word, nor was jesus it is that idiot you await that opens up a can of whoop-azz truth; the sword
sure.... the base commands are old kissing the dirt aint a good for life it is homage to see submission amoung men but wasting life in doing so
a lie or false representation of truth is a jinn ie... it can send you on a wrong path jinn.demons.bulsheet........ one of the same false of true for example: listening to a preacher tell you that jinn are flyaround and god created them, to me makes me think of "cold jinn time again' truth is sweet
O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women;- reverence Allah, through whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (That bore you): for Allah ever watches over you.
A.L.M. This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them; And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter.
That is interesting. I did not realize that that was the term for demons in Islam. I had always thought it was the rub a lamp type of genie or something similar. lol! Thanks for explaining that to me. =)
Encouraging? such as? Muslims are order to shut up, not us. Yes we are. Jesus is the last word He is the Son of God that was rejected by Muslims. On the contrary, it is Jesus Christ that awaits us. Remember the definition of jinns as explain nicely by Ojleb, Mohammed was visited by a jinn that tricked him and possess him that is why Mohammed did not bother to travel to Alexandria, Damascus, Antioch, Jerusalem, Constantinople or to Rome to reveal his revelation to the church leaders instead he declare war, Mohammed's background was a merchant he should have at least travel to Alexandria Egypt and consult with the church fathers before he declare war against them. Muslim scholars have choose to ignore these simple analogy and they have no answer as to why Mohammed did not travel to those places when it was clear that he was instructed by Gabriel or God to consult with the people of the Book (Christians).
As we all know, most of Islam is stolen from Judaism and Christianity. But they also mixed in rituals and beliefs from ancient paganism for good measure.
This is not to generate hate against Jews, but it is a fact that during the turmoil revolving around the formation and progress of the early Israeli state, Israel attempted numerous defamations of the Kaaba- even trying to destroy it completely. All religions have mixed elements from Paganism for good measure. The prophets from each were also travelers and they had gained an assortment of ideas from an assortment of people. Islam acknowledges both the Torah and the Quran as it's foundation and calls itself "the last book" in acknowledgement of the first two. They simply don't believe he was God, himself. They do acknowledge that he was a prophet. The one who doesn't acknowledge Jesus Christ at all, RiseAgainst, is Judaism. They believe he was neither God nor Prophet but just an ordinary Jew. I'm inclined to believe Judaism's view on that, myself.
