    More important to the "Proving Ground" idea is the hushed-up fact that US-made rail gun and laser prototypes, connected to Israeli Iron Dome systems have been taking out smaller projectiles - as small as 82mm mortar rounds. In both cases the warheads are being detonated or smashed to the point they cannot detonate. The truck-mounted rail guns and lasers are very cheap to operate compared to the missile based Iron Dome/Patriot.

    Pretty soon, Hamas will be reduced to launching rocks with trebuchets.
