Yes all you people who have been repeating that lie for years now have it from the horses mouth.

In an interview with Israel's Deputy Prime Minister Dan Meridor in Jerusalem, I heard something I have not heard before.

It's when I challenged him on the biggest talking point of all, Iran's supposed determination to "wipe Israel off the face of the map," that Meridor seemed to stumble outside the lines of the agreed narrative.

    Meridor: [Iran's leaders] all come basically ideologically, religiously with the statement that Israel is an unnatural creature, it will not survive. They didn't say 'we'll wipe it out', you are right, but [that] it will not survive, it is a cancerous tumor, it should be removed;

Nabili: Well, I am glad you acknowledged they didn't say they will wipe it out, because certainly Israeli politicians…

Meridor: … they say it will be removed, needs to be removed …

So that clears that up then. The whole propaganda campaign that has used that line to try and claim that Iran was going to nuke Israel is now debunked and by the Israel's Deputy Prime Minister Dan Meridor himself.

It is an interview with the Israeli Deputy Prime Minister. You just have no argument whatsoever against it and that is why you do not want to comment. The interview is on Al Jazeera tomorrow,it has been shown already but is repeated tomorrow and this evening.

    Here you go.

This episode of Talk to Al Jazeera can be seen on Al Jazeera English at the following times GMT:
    Saturday, April 14: 0430
    Sunday, April 15: 0830, 1930
    Monday, April 16: 1430

Makes no difference whatsoever. Even if by chance some Deputy Prime Minister did made a rogue statement, now what? Am I supposed to sleep better at night? Is Iran all of a sudden became Israeli friend? LoL, what naiveté... :)

Makes no difference to you but people who like to know the truth will be happy. He is not some Deputy Prime Minister,he is the Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and he is stating that Iran never said that they will wipe Israel off the map. So the years of using that as a propaganda tool against Iran are over.

fine. First of all, prove to me he speaks Farsi. Then, you'll have to prove he speaks Farsi better, and understand nuances better then all the other people who translated statements by Ahmadinejad's and his ku-ku imams. And if he does not speak Farsi, please prove the Deputy Prime Minister have met with Ahmadinejad, and know his intentions firsthand.

And their threats are not empty. A few millions Israelites surrounded by gazillions of Arabs who, even with Soviet help could not occupy the country that you can walk across in a few hours... LoL, you make me laugh :)

You really think that the Israeli intelligence services do not speak Farsi? Very interesting but surely untrue. Just face it you are grasping around for every weak argument you can find and have failed. First it was because it was on an Al Jazeera blog and when pointed out that it is an interview on Al Jazeera TV you are on to this silly can he speak Farsi crap. Just face it,you have no argument against it.

This isn't about democracy. You know that.

It certainly wasn't about democracy when we took care of Mossadegh.

The deputy did not speak for his country; he spoken for himself. As in expressing his own opinion. What does it prove? That the man have his own, however misguided opinion? Mozel Tov.

It's about having a proxy. Israel takes the brunt of a lot of the angst in the Islamic World. They're practical to have in some respects, but they're also a continual thorn in the side whenever we try to improve diplomacy with certain Islamic countries.

I suspect he probably understands the truth a whole lot better than you do. I'm so sorry you don't like hearing it-I'd tune right back into Fox if I were you...

Everybody with a functioning brain understood that the Neo-Zionist cryto-fascists exploited the initial error in the translation for their own ends. I mean it was long ago regarded as a worn canard. It's not even a controversial issue.

the interesting thing is why is he saying it now

seems to me the zionist regime is collapsing and since no one seems to be falling for its lies any more and the rise of the Islam in the region they need to rethink their strategy
