Almost every professional sport has catered to BLM/Antifa, cancelling games and putting on "special reports" about the movements and blah blah blah. This has been the left's dream for years! The owners and players and sponsors have all caved to the B.S.! Well guess what? I caved too! I am not interested in professional sports anymore. The result for me will also be to drop my cable TV subscription as that was mostly the reason I kept it, my sports, no more! I hope to God college doesn't bow to the criminal protests but I suspect they will. Leftists destroy everything they touch. Enjoy the utopia you losers.
I never watched baseball much anyway, si that wasn't hard to quit. I've been nfl free for 4 years but was an avid nba fan. I haven't missed it but the 4 month break helped, and I have a lot more free time at night, so that's a plus.
Owners of large interests feel that catering to Antifa/BLM will sell more of their product or get more people to watch events. It is virtue signaling without any ethical center. Believe me if owners thought they could significantly increase their profits, we would be seeing the KKK endorsing products and events.
Universities are very liberal. Rachel Maddow can't stop bragging about it. "The youth of the furture". But it's the Professors they are speaking of. Not coaches/players. Coaches and players put politics aside in many aspects, surprisingly. My friend is an assistant coach for a D1 school. He said they are cool with players using social media for their views, but they play as a team and leave politics at the entrance to the stadium. Most teams are following that. Players know that if they get too emotional, it affects draft decisions. Teams don't want drama in the NFL. Imagine being a 1st round pick and slipping to the second round because of something you said on social media. That's millions lost.
This reminds me of all the racists leaving NASCAR for telling the WS to **** off. So many tears from racists crying about a sport that started as a '**** the police' protest agreeing with a **** the police protest. The departure of single IQ barbarians from sports is welcome and will only make them more enjoyable to everyone else.
Nascar didn't lose NEARLY the amount of viewers the NBA did with their bigoted protests. The NBA finals was the lowest ever since the Nielsen era. No other finals has had that few percentage of viewers. Which the NBA expressed concern for because everyone was at home because of COVID and "no reason not to watch", per Silver lol nice try race baiting.
I too have stopped watching the NFL on TV. I now only watch a couple of college football games. It only takes one rotten apple to spoil the bunch.
