It's Official, the CDC has changed the definition of vaccination

For all of human history up until the pandemic, we knew what it mean to be vaccinated. Now, for political reasons, it's being changed.

What do you find wrong with that?

 

Everything is start to fall apart. The left is the early stages of abandoning vaccines and masks but their exit strategy is to distort or outright sanitize the position they've held thus far along with all supporting materials. The virus isn't going away and we gamble with each iteration but now the politics matter more than people's lives for the left, as they did all along for the right. I was looking forward to a summer without mass riots but I guess with the left abandoning the COVID fight they'll have to default back to race wars, shame.

 

Its obviously changed because covid vaccines don't grant immunity.

So basically I am vaccinated because I had vitamin C and D.

 

I'm not speaking for @tharock220. My read on that is the word "protection" replaces "immunity" since we know that people vaccinated for COVID can get and transmit the virus. It appears the risk of hospitalization and/or death is lessened in vaccinated people that catch it but the word "immunity" in the first definition is not accurate.

Again, vitamin D is legally a vaccine against Covid.

 

There's two things you can do when you find out you're full of s***.

The obvious one that makes the most sense is to stop being full of s***.

Or you can just comandeer the English language and decide you're going to change definitions to fit your BS.

That would be what they've done here. It's much like the left telling us you could have a big old penis and still be a "woman"

 

Or, maybe some more angry mobs can beat the hell out of hundreds of police officers and expect to not get arrested or convicted.

I suppose Trump will have to whine a little louder and a bit farther since that first batch is in prison and the ones that aren't don't seem to be fairing too well either.

 

Yea this is what I figured will happen. Without COVID to run on Dems will likely break BLM out again, probably around June-July. We'll have to see but I'm expecting a chaotic summer this year; riots, probably a new COVID variant, and of course another above-normal hurricane season.

You guys know the influenza VACCINE does not provide universal protection either. Arguably no vaccine does because there are gaps in the immune system. If anything the new definition makes sense because the COVID vaccine provides protection against the virus, but new strains make it hard to adjust.

To be fair, no vaccine has ever granted 'immunity.' Viral load, cleanliness and general health have always been factors in 'keeping yourself from being affected by a disease' since no vaccine has ever been 100% effective at preventing the targetted disease in 100% of its recipients. For example, since I have been exposed to covid but have never gotten sick from covid, I am by definition "immune" to covid because I have not been 'affected' by covid, and I am not vaccinated, while some who were vaccinated were still 'affected' (infected) by covid. I remain "immune" per the definition of the word until I am "affected" by covid, while they remain simply "affected" by covid and thus NOT "immune."

....or, NO ONE can ever be immune to covid until we stop all the mandates and shutdowns that are destroying the economy, since that makes everyone 'affected' by covid.

But suffice to say, given that 'immunity' never technically applied to vaccines in the first place, it is interesting why the CDC chose now to recognize and address the technicality...

no, the vaccine prepared the immune system to fight the Polio virus, the rest was all up to our own immune systems to fight the battle if\when we got the virus

yes, there is limitations to our immune systems, it's not 100%, any complaints, take them to your creator

 

When was the last time you read something about polio more detailed than a right wing twitter feed or blog post? Maybe you should.

could a variant mutate that the vaccine no longer covers... sure... but that would not be a failure of the vaccine

could your immune system be compromised and the virus still win, sure ... but that would not be a failure of the vaccine

Maybe you should go to the CDC website and read it for yourself..... I'll save you the time the last recorded case in the United States was 42 years ago in 1979.

Because it was a real vaccine that worked.

I think most anti-vaxxers at this stage think that God has sent COVID to punish us for permitting gay marriage or some such and the vaccine is "thwarting God's will". We'll get Hurricanes if we don't all dutifully die as we should.
