That's really sad. I chatted with him a few months ago and he looked great and still had all his wits about him. Very unfortunate loss. Is wife is very nice, she must be in pieces. RIP.
Oh no! He just made a statement last week about the No Labels party. He was one of their primary spokespeople.
He died from complications suffered from a fall. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment...e-lieberman-000515866.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall
that's too bad. Now while I didn't support his politics, he was a good man. One of my better friends in college had worked for Joe in most of his political offices-including a state senate position and later as an Asst AG for CT. Another one of my better friends was the president of the Yale Kosher Kitchen and Joe Lieberman would eat there fairly regularly. It is there I first met Joe since Adam and I would have lunch there several times when we were suite mates. Joe impressed me as willing to listen to anyone no matter their political positions. He never talked down to anyone. He was frequently a guest of the Yale Political Union-I held several positions in that organization. I am saddened he has died.
2000 was the first presidential election I voted in. Although I ultimately didn't vote for Gore, I was impressed with Joe as his running mate and probably would have voted for him if he was leading the ticket. Part of me always hoped that he and McCain would run together as a two party ticket.
