Hopefully this leads to social media platforms that censor political speech losing their 'public commons' protection from liability for the speech they are -by virtue of censoring some but not others- necessarily promoting.
Please don't lump me in with the GOP or Pres Trump. I want government to be involved whenever something has a massive and persistent impact on my life. Social media absolutely qualifies. At any point one of us can become the victim of the unmitigated power which social media has. I'm not just talking about being banned or suspended for saying something that big tech doesn't agree with, there are other areas of serious concern. Data breaches being able to compromise our identities resulting in long lasting complications, the ability for 'the mob' to target individuals and businesses for 'cancellation' or outright violence and the power that trending has to get that accomplished (power we know big tech has the ability to recognize early and stop but selectively uses), and the anti-competitive monopolies that these big tech cartels have created when they coordinate to drive alternatives out of the market and off the web entirely.
