A Federal judge has ordered that the administration release the unredacted version of the Mueller Report with only the Grand Jury portion including witness names redacted. This occurred today.

He also ordered that Mueller be involved with the redacting process because of the fact that there is evidence that Barr knowingly ordered non-confidential parts of the report redacting in the first version released. The judge basically said that Barr can't he trusted to he isn't allowed to call the shots on what is redacted. There is gonna be oversight on the process

Todays ruling District Judge Reggie Walton found the Justice Department failed to demonstrate that the deleted or redacted material is protected by the deliberative process privilege and should be released in full with only the grand jury proceedings and witnesses names redacted.

That's going to be interesting. The parts that remain redacted are mostly to protect Trump and his family. So the names are easy to guess.

A judge cannot order classified material to be release.

Barr didn't do the redacting, the Mueller team and the DOj Office of Legal Council and intelligence agencies did.

Yes but it was not required t he be consulted. He had no say in what would be redacted and what wouldn't. Barr was simply allowed to redact anything he saw fit with no oversight.

Under these new rules, Meullers team will do all the redacting, and have final say in whether something be redacted. Only classified information and grand jury testimony will be redacted. Nothing else, unlike last time, when Barr ordered non-confidential information be redacted because it made Trump look bad

Mueller was there for consulting purposes. He had noano to dictate what would and wouldn't be redacted. And he said in interviews that he couldn't get straight answers over what the DOJ was choosing to redact and the reasons behind the choices

This judge just ruled the entire report minus the grand jury parts must be released because the information it contains is NOT PROTECTED by the deliberative process privilege the Justice Department(BARR) claimed it is protected under.. This includes parts of the Mueller report which he had removed prior to distributing his redacted version.

A federal judge on Wednesday ordered the Department of Justice (DOJ) to publish information redacted from the Mueller report that had been designated as privileged.

District Judge Reggie Walton said the Trump administration had failed to justify certain redactions from the report on the special counsel's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The specific redactions he took issue with cover the decisionmaking process within former special counsel Robert Mueller's team over whether to charge certain people with crimes during the probe.

I don't know what purpose it serves to release that privileged information except to smear the individuals. That is why it is redacted.

Because it is NOT protected by the law which the TRUMP JUSTICE DEPARTMENT claimed should prevent it's release, according to the judge.

No. The DOJ was ordered to release an unredacted version to the court—not the public—for evaluation. This is the ruling after the court’s evaluation.

I believe it's just to the party making the FOIA request.

At any right the cases and investigations Mueller wanted protected are likely done at this point. So no harm

It was never about protecting ongoing cases it's a Confederate law to release testimony at the Grand jury under any circumstances. That is why it needed redacting. The issue is that the DOJ was redacting parts of the report that shouldn't have been redacting on Barr's orders. This judge ruled that the DOJ hasn't shown sufficient prove that everything that was redacted was supposed to be and he ordered that a court be shown the full report to determine whether or not they tried to cover up parts if the report. Meuller said early on that he was being blocked from many of the decisions and he couldn't get straight answers from the doj about what was being redacted and what wasn't.

So now an independent court is going to look at the full report, and start giving out obstruction charges to anyone who had a hand in redacting information that shouldn't have been redacted

um Confederate law? and grand jury testimony isn't being released here.

What Mueller had redacted that wasn't GJ testimony was info related to on going investigations, and information that might have compromised sources and methods....it obvously doesn't all need to be protected now.

No Barr worked with Mueller on what was suppose to be redacted and what wasn't.....yes like I said the Judge made the order, likely because those cases are done.

Mueller said in his very poor public appearance that he did not agree with Barr's conclusion regarding his report.
