You would guess correctly. I'm old enough to remember Watergate, and I have NEVER seen such abuse of power as we have coming from the whitehouse. What I see him allowed to get away with is what is really frightening. I think when this nightmare is over in 2920, a total revamp of presidential power should really take place. There are many accepted "norms" that have been policy forever, but are not specific laws. This needs to be rectified so we never find ourselves in this position again.

Yes it is....on a couple of levels.

1. Mailing a "white powdery substance" for the purpose of deception (misrepresentation) is illegal.
2. Mailing a letter for the purpose of deception and personal gain (yes, notoriety is a personal gain) is illegal....even if it was to oneself.

The Mail fraud law is pretty much all about the intent of the mailed item. If it was sent for the purpose of deception for personal gain....even if to oneself, it is illegal.

 

I don't know. I think presenting it as false evidence of a hate crime is fraud, so maybe so. There might have been powder in the letter, but I am not sure.
