Yep. They actually chase people out of restaurants. They're simply horrible human beings and no normal person wants to put up with that crap. So they keep their mouths shut and vote.

Sure. Trump inspires confidence in his base. Biden may not inspire much confidence personally as a candidate, but "hate Trump" is very inspirational to the hard core Democrat base. That is so much the case that half the country is ready to vote for a man with Alzheimer's. Think about that. Neither man has 50% of positive public opinion. Like many other elections, this one is in the hands of Independents who are rather fickle and tend not to be political junkies as much as hard-core partisans are. They are very likely to vote for the most "likable" candidate, regardless of policy positions.

Most of the public is tired. Trump is divisive and Biden's mind has deteriorated. Kanye could easily pull several million votes from each of them.

Meh, I think what is missing in the news and this forum is the silent majority. Most people are probably like me. I held my nose voting for Trump because I DID NOT want to see shillary get the win. Since then Trump has done exactly what he said he would do. Yes, the public is tired but not of Trump!

Are you wondering why more people outside of Trump's base aren't rushing to support Trump? Trump supporters, for the most part, are not being any more "kind and gentle" to Democrats than Democrats are being to Trump supporters.

I believe that there are people whose political opinions are misguided. The same people believe my political opinions are misguided. I do not believe that "they" are all horrible human beings. "They" is some nefarious evil enemy. To "them", you are the "they". We've got to get past "us" and "them" at some point and judge people as "good" or "bad" on an individual basis, determined by individual actions, not by party lines.

~ This is true where I live in Los Angeles. Many Democrats are fed up with their own party as well. I am always meeting moderate conservative people who support Trump's agenda.
~ This is sad but true. Same as those who say "It's time for a woman president - even if it's a transgender person ." With some the criteria is all about image and fluff.

I see the danger of a Biden win in that Democrats are coddling the Cultural Marxists who have infiltrated the Democrat Party and plan to destroy it....after they first destroy the Republicans and silence conservatives. A strong moderate Democrat could squash that anti-American element using sense and reason. Biden could have done that in his younger years, but is now feeble and in his dotage. They are likely to roll right over him and the country will move toward the authoritarian Far-Left. Watching younger and more competent city mayors and governors roll over and let the anarchists destroy their cities and watching Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer cowering to "progressive" demands gives me no hope that Biden can "hold down the fort" for 4 years.

I think there is a "silenced" moderate majority in the Democrat Party who are scared to death of the sudden strength of the post-modern cultural marxists. They are still going to go with Biden. Trump is not nuanced enough to separate moderate Democrats, (who could be allies and included in a "silenced" majority) from the 3rd party Marxists which are rising within their own party. If he weren't so rough around the edges, Trump could pull some of them in. Nuance is not his forte.

Either way 2020-2024 is toast. The choice appears to be division or destruction....or both. :(

Being from Texas I sensed you were more red than blue. You seem more purple to me now. Not sure why but I really do feel Trump is fine. The madness of the left kinda backs me up. Scare me a little.

Red doesn't mean rude. I am a conservative-leaning and Libertarian-leaning Independent. I have mentioned that many times. The fact that the classic liberals, who are the current majority of Democrats, will not speak out against the Far-Left faction is terrifying. It is terrifying to the moderate liberal Democrats, the few who are willing to acknowledge it. That is common ground.

Someone needs to extend an olive branch and make some uncommon alliances between the American Culture of partisan "red" and "blue". Otherwise, "red" is not going to mean Republican for much longer. It will mean communist again.

Do you want to save America? Don't fight the "party of rude" by being the "other party of rude". Be the uniting force before the neo-Marxists unite us all against our free wills, by and with force.

    here is a news flash

the entire system does not need to be demolished to be repaired

yes I do miss the status quo

for the 16 years prior to T-rump there were none of the following,,

NO porn star payoffs.. no grabbem my the pu$$y comments

no 100 tweets a day of which 99 are completely false or insane

no racists comments from the presidential podium

    no Russian investigations

no nepotism ...the people with the most influence with trump are his girlfriend and her cuck .

    no bill barr

    and the list goes on..

and one other reason I crave the status quo of the last 16 years

    NO IMPEACHMENTS

Bush lost my vote to Perot because Perot kept hammering on about fiscal responsibility and I liked it. I also liked his take on the downside to NAFTA. Like a lot of Bush voters that flipped to Perot, I initially regretted my vote when Clinton won. However, as it turned out, Clinton was actually to the right of Republicans on many issues and he was certainly more personable than Bush or Perot.

Congress that year did not go heavily democrat any more than it already was. In fact, the Republicans gained seats as a result of the 92 election which suggests the opposite of Perot's effect on down ballot results.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/103rd_United_States_Congress

    The 102nd Congress prior to the 92 election ended with 58 D / 42 R in the Senate and 267 D / 166 R / 1 I in the House.

    The 103rd Congress subsequent to the 92 election began with 57 D / 43 R in the Senate and 258 D / 176 R / 1 I in the House.

Since you got this wrong, I'm guessing your additional statements about bipartisan cooperation is likely a bit off as well. Clinton worked across the aisle well enough with Newt that the US for the first time since 1969 enjoyed a federal budget surplus for 4 years beginning in 1998.

    https://www.cbo.gov/system/files/2020-01/51134-2020-01-historicalbudgetdata.xlsx

So maybe Perot's message did get through, apologies.
