And untreated disorders can be even worse than dependency. Also, that depends on the drug in question.

And your credentials regarding Bipolar, OCD, ADHD, etc come from? Have you published your findings?

People with bipolar experience auditory and visual hallucinations for instance, and blackout/sleep walk. That is not something you parent away.
