Why do the Democrats constantly try to call the Republicans racists? Why do they now say that the Republicans are responsible for the KKK?

The KKK was founded in Tennessee immediately after the end of the Civil War as a sort of social club for former Confederate Soldiers whose influence quickly spread through the decimated Southern states. In its early days, the group was loosely bound by one main principle: launching a reign of terror against Republican leaders black and white.

Racism was, of course, a guiding principle, but not quite as guiding as the hatred of the Republicans, the party of Lincoln, the Yankees who early Klansmen believed destroyed their homeland through what they termed a “war of northern aggression.”

Former Democrat Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia was a recruiter for the Klan while in his 20s and 30s, rising to the title of Kleagle and Exalted Cyclops of his local chapter. After leaving the group, Byrd spoke in favor of the Klan during his early political career. Though he claimed to have left the organization in 1943, Byrd wrote a letter in 1946 to the group's Imperial Wizard stating "The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia." Byrd attempted to explain or defend his former membership in the Klan in his 1958 U.S. Senate campaign when he was 41 years old.

Typical Democrat strategy, blame the other side for what you did or will do! Then when you do it, its only what they did!

There are white democrats and white republicans,
and for them they are both supreme.

But I don't know if with their anti-immigration stance will they repulse skinheads when these folks decided to migrate into US soil?

But, absent their racism, Democrats back then were demonstrably the better party. The fiscally conservative party. The states rights party.

There is a long stretch of history back to 1777 which you seem to be unfamiliar with. Read Madison's notes at the constitutional convention.

The Democratic Party has a long, disturbing history: slavery, Jim Crow, and now affirmative action. The party never seems to get it right. They've swung wildly from one extreme to another, completely missing the center, where the Republican Party has always been: a colorblind society, where people are judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Indeed, Conservatives have traditionally supported the KKk and the Democrats used to be the Conservative party.

Byrd is dead. Why are you still using him as an example of Democrats being racist?

    It's a complete non-sequitur.
