"Purified" water and "distilled" water are not the same thing. MOST bottled water is no different than if you ran tap water thru a good water filter you can buy at any hardware or WalMart store.

If you want "distilled" water, buy distilled water. Virtually no sold bottled water is distilled water, but is either filtered tap water (95+%) or spring/well water. Generally, people don't like drinking distilled water (ie 100% pure and only water).

Also, it is not necessary to boil off the water to measure particulate matter in the water. You can do that with a $5 tester.

Did you know that MOST bottled water now contains silver nitrate as a preservative, but they are not required to state this on the label? That may be the residual left in his testing. Also, MOST people do not like the taste (or lack of taste) of distilled water and many argue that spring water or deep well water is better for a person because the body needs the minerals in it.

Thus, Kroger water may now be both safer and healthier than before. It depends what that remaining particulate matter is. It also may be safer to store long term than before. Don't throw away your Kroger emergency water supply because of what some blogger who doesn't really know what he's talking about says in some worthless test and then making false assumptions.
