Today a group of 80 people from the committee of "reform and an independence kurdistan" headed for Hamreen mountain in a ceremony raised the Kurdish flag in Hamreen mountain to remind the Iraqi government and the international communities of an independence kurdistan underway.

Azhin Jamal the head of the group told AK news that the group were chosen among the protestors in Slemani city and were sent off to mark the borders of a Kurdish state to come in a near future.

she said when the group arrived in Duz-Khurmatu they were received by the people of this Kurdish isolated town and 40 more joined the existing 80 group.

then they all headed for Hamreen mountain and together they raised the Kurdish flag and sang the Kurdish national anthem "Ay RaQib".

the head committee of "reform and an independence kurdistan" also said they asked the Peshmerga forces to protect the kurds against extremists and ba'th remnants in the region.

Isn't it nice that the Saudis paid a million dollars a day for over a decade to protect the Kurds with a no fly zone.

It was actually the US and Turkey who were responsible for the "no fly zone". the Turkish NATO bases were the main bases. Meanwhile Barzani and Talabani recieved top priority diplomatic passports from Turkey to be able to contact with the world.

I am really amazed how Iraqi Kurds easily ignore this fact.

it wasnt turkey it was US using turkish airbase . and at that time south kurdistan was under heavy sanctions and have no way off travelling outside . and talabani didnt have a turkish passport . and now after everything is back to normal they use a national passport with kurdish writing as a 2nd language in it . and the new iraqi money will have kurdish writing on them i dont know why they bothered cos KRG is printing its own currency notes / .
