wealthy people will typically follow the party ideology that best suites them, but if they are using this ideology to screw the little guy then they usually run the system from behind the scenes. Which is exactly what happens in Tennessee.

Who do you think redirects all the tax dollars that should be going to repairing Memphis, to keeping Nashville the prissy place it is?

The democrats were. Until now. We just took control of the state from them. Even after that turncoat switched parties to become speaker with the backing of the democrats a couple of years ago. He's gone now though.
Redistricting will make it almost impossible for them to take it back.

 

And interestingly enough now that the republicans have rebuilt the way the budget works Tennessee is now in a deficit. GG

Not really. Half of the party is made up of moderates -- some of whom could run as moderate Republicans, or at least, they could have about 10 years ago.

Over the last decade, the GOP has shifted pretty far to the right -- even by American standards.
