Let's talk about Melania Trump (first lady?)

I have no idea what her "issues" might be.

She is beautiful, smart, and very, very ambitious.

I don't necessarily want her as First Lady, but my primary issues are with her husband.

 

First of all, she is gorgeous and very intelligent. Secondly, she is obviously a gold digger. Lastly, she is not anything close to the typical first lady. However, if Trump wins she will be dragged through the mud for being what every ad in every magazine says is the ideal woman. Welcome to misogyny incorporated folks.

We have given the Clintons an infinite number of chances, and they have desisted from being anything but corrupt liars, (bill got barred from practicing law for lying under oath) and if Hillary's mouth is moving, she is lying, and not about her penis size, but lying as a public servant to the American people she refuses to represent unless they have big money to give her.

I think Clinton supporters are either mentally lacking, or they are of the same moral character as the Clintons. Either way, these people are dangerous to a rule of law republic, that is, if we still had one.

Hell if not for laws protecting people from their own stupidity, a Clinton supporter would be an evolutionary dead end. I'm not really with the right or the left, but I'm not pleased with her as a first lady. I think a first lady should be classy, graceful, kind and genuine. But maybe that's just me, and I could be wrong about Melania. And BTW, pretty does not equal classy.

Nah. Melania just represents the shallowness of Trump. No, she's no intellectual giant. She comes from presumably humble background and gained notoriety for her looks, nothing else....and especially nothing else as it relates to politics. Ordinarily, she'd be just window dressing for the guy with that orange thing on his head, but as a F.L. she'd be the butt (and I use the word advisedly) of innumerable jokes world-wide. The woman can barely (and I use the word advisedly) speak English, for godssakes. Her f'ing husband objectified her, not us.

Michelle Obama as a first lady. Aye. I don't particularly care for her personality first of all. I won't go as far to say she doesn't have ANY class, but the woman cannot dress. She has a HORRID fashion sense, although there are a few pics out there where she looks decent. She probably didn't dress herself for those occasions though.

 

I was highly doubtful of that comment that she was "smart." Lol. I can't be too judgmental though because I have yet to hear her say anything. I'm just not thrilled by the fact that a potential first lady was posing nearly nude and being all suggestive with her lying on beds with legs spread and such things. Call me old fashioned, but I don't think that is appropriate first lady behavior. I just feel like America and our reputation is going in the tubes, and I blame both parties and party politics for that. We are like a giant circus freak show now.

 

1. IMO you are falling for a total media creation with JKO. The MSM branch of the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-MSM Complex runs the gamut on treatment of Democrat FLs from favorable to gushing hagiography, with JKO as the epitome of the latter. On GOP FLs, the MSM is either silent or moderately unfavorable. At least this has been true for every FL in my lifetime. JKO, LBJ, RC, HC, MO, all treated very well or at worst with neutrality by the MSM despite plenty of fodder for juicy, paper-selling criticism. PN, BF, NR, BB, LB not treated in any way nearly as well, with Nancy Reagan, one of the better first ladies IMO, as the "anti Jackie" in terms of how she was treated by the media. Remember all the bogus nonsense of "governing by fortuneteller" and "snobbish fashion" about NR in the 80s? maybe before your time. In fact the obvious difference in treatment is an accurate barometer of MSM bias IMO that eventually made me "wake up."

I don't know that much about Melania Trump admittedly, her appearance is definitely top 1% for a woman her age, she's topped by freaks of beauty like Charlize Theron and a few others, but as far as "American beauty standards" and class, and what TENS OF MILLIONS OF AMERICAN WOMEN DO EVERY YEAR in the name of beauty (take a guess at what average US black women spend on their hair, you will be low... take a gander at the La Mer beauty cream website... or go on the Neiman Marcus cosmetics site or even Nordstrom and check the prices of stuff that AVERAGE WOMEN BUY... dig up stats on the dollar amount spent by AVERAGE WOMEN on plastic surgery), MT is a pretty paradigmatic example of "success" in that endeavor, and in her family... she landed a very nice nest to have very nice children... that is a MAINSTREAM goal of tens of millions of American women. Catting about her by the average American woman is hypocritical. Claiming she is some Cruella or slattern based on her being able to sell pictures of herself for TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AN HOUR is laughably moronic. As far as "gold-digging?" that is laughable in light of the above. MT's net worth was estimated at $11 million in 2015, that's HER net worth, not hers and DT's. The woman was a very successful model. I have known modestly successful models who make more than the average fulltime worker can make in a lifetime by the time they are 25. The term "gold-digger" when applied to a woman who was a personal financial success in a way tens of millions of American women would desire is completely inapplicable. For all we know, based on all the LW sewer pipe coverage of Donald Trump's "poverty" SHE may have more money than HE does if that were true (it's not, but just saying). Calling Melania Trump a gold-digger is an example of real misogyny. Why wouldn't a very financially successful woman seek a very financially successful mate? Are women supposed to be limited in whom they date and how they set their sights and conduct their lives? The "gold-digger" BS is plain misogynistic, and a testament to the hypocrisy of some of the opinions in this thread and elsewhere.

As far as the actual topic? I think she'd be a fine first lady. She is educated, has worked for a living in the private sector, understands charity events and fundraising and other types of promotion, is well-spoken (you go over there to Eastern Europe, learn their language, and then tell us how you feel when those over there call you "dumb" because it is your second language). She would appear well in diplomatic affairs, and I believe would have appeal in Europe.
