Liberal Panic Now That Benghazi Fiasco Finally Getting Real Coverage?

There is no escaping the fact that, where Benghazi is concerned, there is blood in the water and the mainstream media has (at long last) picked up the scent. Yesterday, the sharks representing the three major TV networks circled Press Secretary Jay Carney, bombarding him with questions that were uncharacteristically tough.

ABC’s Jonathan Karl, who broke the story that the talking points underwent twelve revisions, had the aspect and attitude of a man scorned and determined to set the record straight as much to clear his own name as to ascertain the truth. When Carney attempted to weasel out of his claim earlier in the week that the White House had merely made minor “stylistic” changes to the talking points, Karl was adamant and unrelenting.

While there are now premature suggestions that impeachment may be in the president’s future, there is no dismissing the fact that this is a major cover-up whose potential for harming administration members present and past (that means you, Hillary!) should not be underestimated. As Mark Steyn reminds us, in January, Clinton “denied ever seeing Ambassador Stevens’s warnings about deteriorating security in Libya on the grounds that ‘1.43 million cables come to my office’ — and she can’t be expected to see all of them, or any,” adding:

Once Ambassador Stevens was in his flag-draped coffin listening to her eulogy for him at Andrews Air Force Base, he was her bestest friend in the world — it was all ‘Chris this’ and ‘Chris that,’ as if they’d known each other since third grade. But up till that point he was just one of 1.43 million close personal friends of Hillary trying in vain to get her ear.

Now we know that at 8 p.m. Eastern time on the last night of Stevens’s life, his deputy in Libya spoke to Secretary Clinton and informed her of the attack in Benghazi and the fact that the ambassador was now missing. An hour later, Gregory Hicks received a call from the then–Libyan prime minister, Abdurrahim el-Keib, informing him that Stevens was dead. Hicks immediately called Washington. It was 9 p.m. Eastern time, or 3 a.m. in Libya. Remember the Clinton presidential team’s most famous campaign ad? About how Hillary would be ready to take that 3 a.m.call? Four years later, the phone rings, and Secretary Clinton’s not there. She doesn’t call Hicks back that evening. Or the following day.

Are murdered ambassadors like those 1.43 million cables she doesn’t read? Just too many of them to keep track of? No. Only six had been killed in the history of the republic — seven, if you include Arnold Raphel, who perished in General Zia’s somewhat mysterious plane crash in Pakistan in 1988.​

His admin refused to beef up security, security personnel were actually sent home, and there were two stand-down orders sent to a response team that according to several sources could only have come from Obama.

Hmm..., At least Romney didn't lie about causing the deaths of 4 men working fort him or the wounding of at least 6 others. Romney never lied to the mothers and fathers or wives of those that he abandoned in Benghazi and the Delaware Reception Center. Nor has Romney tossed so many of his people under the bus as Obama has.

I can agree with most of what you're saying, but what I highlighted in red? I completely disagree with those points.

 

Romney should have nailed Obama on Benghazi! He should not have just relied on the poor economy to win the debate. He should have known there are too many low intellect voters that voted for Obama purely to get things.

 

There is no panic. The panic is "Oh my god, my cousin is out of a job" is I actually report MEANINGFUL news if I am a worker at ABC.

 

Susan Rice was speaking directly for the president of the United States, when she made those statements on all those Sunday shows. There is no way in hell someone as low on the totem pole as Victoria Nuland would be allowed to make any changes on her own, she was instructed to make those changes.

Something as important as putting out the official White House statement concerning the attack on the Benghazi consulate, definitely involved the president. He sure as hell would never put up with some staffer putting out bogus talking points, and making him look like an ass on national and international cable and TV channels. 0bama was completely content with what Susan Rice said, he let her statements go unchallenged for three weeks.

 

Of course, Obama and Hillary are lying their arses off. This is a disaster of their own making made worse by an huge cover-up.

Why wasn't that ambassador, as the "senior officer present" not able to effect a better evacuation plan since he was not assigned a firebase.

If it was not a firebase, why would more "security" personnel have been more effective if that mission was overrun? Wouldn't it be possible that even more casualties would have resulted.

 

Only because a messy response to this terrorist attack would have forced him to cancel his fund raising trip the next day. Then, once our ambassador and three others were dead what did it matter??

In reality the video scam that the left wing media fell for like it was Liz Taylor's eyes looked pretty good to BH Obama and Hillary. It got them through the election and what is the worst that can happen to BHO, Hillary and the rest of the regime? BHO is still Black so he's still safe. He will lose the Senate and more seats in the House, his appointees will be purged and Hillary will cry and sing like a bird if BHO points a finger at her.

 

From one perspective, if that was the case and that ambassador was not assigned any authority over a firebase; the first priority should have been to evacuate at the first sign of imminent danger to that diplomatic mission.

 

Watching the liberals defend Obama is like watching Sergio Garcia protect a lead down the stretch.

 

Four men held out for eight hours, and only two of them were former military personnel. Imagine what a fully trained and equipped military unit could have done, or even a low level Mach run to let the attacker know US forces are on sight and about to blow them all to hell.

 

Even real firebases have been overrun. Why should anyone believe a non-firebase would be able to hold out against any determined assault.
