I think if everyone were armed there would be less thug crime.

There would still be crime, but it would evolve to the gunslinger vs gunslinger level.

Good argument, but of course they would. We see abductions when the criminal doesn't know who's armed. Goes to my point that we don't actually see any reduction to crime from loose gun laws.

Which proves you a Lier as there currently are no States with "Loose Gun Laws" the current instant check is comprehensive and in order to get concealed carry an exhaustive investigation is made.

 

There are many Criminals and many people get shot, mostly in Ghettos, minorities shooting minorities, selling illegal drugs, prostitution, getting children into selling illegal drugs.

These people are not buying Guns in Gun stores, they steal Guns.
Gun control restricts Guns to Law Abiding people, not just Criminals, as in New York City, and Wahington D.C. and Los Angeles, etc.......

Try and understand who is commiting most Crimes, Millions of Law Abiding Citizens own Guns and never commit a Crime.

The USA has the world's highest incidence of gun theft. The only people ever to have been the victims of gun theft are gun owners. Why doesn't their gun ownership stop this?

If you see someone with a gun in the UK and it's not in the hands of someone who's licensed to carry a gun like Police, Army, Animal Control, those with licenses like farmers and hunters if you ever see a gun in Thornton Heath or in Croydon or in Brixton or anywhere else in South London, where I call home - then you know it's not registered and was acquired illegally.
You just know it's "gang violence" over illegal drug and prostitution and turf on who controls what so people come to them.
At least in America, guns can be traced back to pawn shops or firearms stores and is regulated by the state.
In Britain you see one, you know it's an illegal firearm.

 

Interesting, since when states passed CCW legislation the incidents of confrontational violent crime dropped precipitously in the aftermath. Apparently criminals are smart enough to want to avoid attempting to target someone who might actually fight back.

 

The you probably got pretty good firearms instruction.

My father use to like to say that "College doesn't give you an education; it gives you the tools with which to acquire an education." While I learned some good things the training I received at the Border Patrol Academy (actually the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Charleston S.C.) was little more than instilling of fundamentals, and a couple of doctrinal choices I found to be horribly poor ideas. But then I had received a lot of training from an early age thanks to my police officer grandfather and through spending some time working in the security field before I was accepted into the Patrol.

 

Is that like Millions of Muslims live peaceful lives in the west? Cos that defence seems to have little value around here.

Official instruction is usually pretty good.
There are usually 2 versions of official instruction -- the testing version and the real-thing version.
The first level of training I got was military.
The second level was police.
The third level was private security.
So I feel fairly well trained.
Even with all this I have still come up with my own modifications, largely because official doctrine changes over time, whereas what works best for me (or you) is up to me (and you).

In my younger days, there was a man" a chamelion _(sp?) and there were no real id on him, in fact, nobody was sure if he was not a she etc..... Like following a Ghost, always three steps behind, crossing Countries and enjoying the chase over a year in pursuit, S.M. and Teneriffe......
