Nobody ever says girls that are victimized by guy teachers are lucky. I believe in equality, therefore she is just as evil as any man that did the same. Teachers are authority figures and abuses of power are abuses of power.

Except that's not pedapilia. Staitory rape yes, pedapilia no. Words, especially medical terms, have meanings.

The heck it is. It's pedOphilia. She is one. That's why she works in a school to begin with.
They always end up working in places where lots children wonder around.

And I'm not exceptionally interested in the exact medical term of an adult having sex with a child under the age of 13 or above.

Not sure if it is considered Statutory Rape. It is a Class A misdemeanor in Wisconsin if the person is between 16 and 18 and is not the spouse of the accused.

As I understand it, he's 14. Still a minor even if state law sets majority at 16. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

No, pedophilia is sexual attraction to someone not sexually mature. Attraction to young (but physically adult) people (aka teens) is something else, the exact term escapes me.

She did not have sex with a prepuberty boy. But she will go on trial for statutory rape.

The second paragraph of the OP article: Sara Domres, a 29-year-old former teacher at the New Berlin West High School, was charged last week for sexual assault of a student by school staff following an alleged relationship with a 16-year-old lasting approximately ten months.

May depend on when is birthday was I suppose.

Ah, well than you're right. Honestly, at 16 this shouldn't even be a crime assuming rape wasn't involved.

I would be less bothered it it were her neighbor and not her student I suppose. Her having some degree of authority over him is problematic. She definitely should be barred from teaching.

I am ambivalent on this. Sure, 45y-old seeking out 12y-olds is repugnant, but does a 21y-old guy with a 17y-old gal qualify?

For my part, the day an older woman once made a man out of my 17y-old self is a defining moment of my life. If given the retrospect choice, I would offer me as a "victim" again in a heartbeat.

PS: They were no "Both" option on the poll so I couldn't vote.

Oh I think it's perfectly with in the norm to call that woman a pedophile.
Heck even you admitted that you don't even know what kind of mental sickness it is for children who are 13+.

The guy was 16 that's majority in most of the world (including the US). Your moral outrage is false.

what do you call an adult having sex with a child? if not a pedophile, I want to hear what you think it should be called

she was a teacher, in a position of authority over children.... that makes it even worse imo

most states have a 5 year age buffer, I would not want my son or daughter to be molested by a teacher.....

some little girls like the older guy too.... just like you.... but we do not say because some liked it, it shoudl be allowed, what if it was your child?

We're talking about someone who can drive, carry a gun, sign contracts, get married, etc. AKA an adult. I'll repeat what I said to the other poster, your moral outrage is false.

You are mistaken; I am a male who has been "abused" by an older female when I was 17. As far as I am concerned, it was one of the best days of my life. In her defense, she was more of an ebophile than a pedophile, thought. Me? Looks like I am attracted to women around my age group or older, which would have creeped me out when I was younger.

At one point, your child is his/her own adult, and there's little one can do about it. That age may be 16, 17 or 29, but there it is. It's on an individual basis rather than at some set age. Some people evolve faster than others, for a variety of reasons. IMO, the important thing is that all lovers be at least in their rather late teens, sound of mind, independant and free of any form of coercion from one part or the other.

Direct sexual contact isn't what I would fear the most for my children (althought I would disaprove of it), but rather the exploitation, like having to prostitute herself while feeding out a pimp. It would matter little to me if she was 17 or 27 while being exploited (althought it does make a difference for the law) - I'd still be out of myself.
