That CIA lie claimed Russia was paying Taliban fighters to kill U.S. troops in Afghanistan, was cooked up by the CIA and then published by The Fake News "New York Times on June 27 of last year, right as former President Trump announced his plans to withdraw troops from Afghanistan."

"The Times story, citing anonymous intelligence officials, was then continually invoked by pro-war Republicans and Democrats" — led by Lying Liz Cheney — "to justify their blocking of that troop withdrawal".

What is a good Republican? Someone who wants unity with the Democrats or does not support Trump?

That is a vague question.

 

Let me modify that...are there any conservative Republicans left? Answer? Not many. I haven't researched the entire Republican House, but here's a theory: McCarthy, Nunes, Crenshaw and other strong Trump supporters in the House represent congressional districts which have already gone over to white minority districts. That tells me, they either redefine "conservatism" to eliminate many of its core values, which traditionally tended to favor the post WW II "ruling economic class" or face future election losses. Now, look at the "pure conservatives," such as Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger (R-Il). They still represent white majority districts (in Cheney's case, there is only a single House representative, due to the population of Wyoming).

IMO, Trump squeaked by the 2016 election, via the electoral college and a tax policy that favored the traditional Republican base, plus his "Wall." In 2020, he failed and while he refuses to acknowledge that loss, he understands that if he is to continue to lead the Party and make it over in his own image, he must move toward the center. In the nineteen thirties, in the Weimar Republic, the Old Guard German conservatives had been deemed failures due to the Versailles Treaty (the loss of the war) and economic disaster. They determined that their political survival depended on an alliance with the relatively new National Socialist Party, led by Hitler and the his "Brown Shirts," who fought the Communists in the streets. So...the coalition was made. As leader of the larger party in the coalition (the Nazis) Hitler became Chancellor and shortly thereafter used the Reichstag fire as the excuse to exercise constitutional emergency powers, which were never given back.

History never repeats itself, but it often rhymes. What did McCarthy recently say? That he wants to make the new Republican Party the "Workers Party."

P.S. Oh yeah...once he controlled the military through his alliance with conservatives, he destroyed the "Brown Shirts," in the "Night of the Long Knives."

Lying Liz Cheney blew up her career over her desire to take down President Donald Trump for telling the truth about the debacle that was the Bush/Cheney War in Iraq.

She was at it again today, ranting on at House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and her replacement as the GOP House Conference Chair, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY). She is only more spoiled than she is self-indulgent.

The House Republicans dumped her because she refused to focus on dealing with Joe Biden; she was too wrapped up in continuing to go after Trump. Now she's attacking the GOP leadership, her successor, and trying to burn them in retribution.

Trump's results speak for themselves. They far exceeded anything we got out of the Bush/Cheney Administration.

The poll shows by big numbers, that Republicans want the party to follow Trump’s example on issues:

• immigration (88%),
• leadership (80%) and
• how to treat the media (77%).
• While concerns about what happened in the 2020 election were important, it was most important to be focused on the right policies — that important legislation and agreeing on economic policy was more important.

She can take her "you said mean things about my Daddy!" show to the cable news work. We've had it with these McCain, Romney, Bush, Cheney, Ryan types that seem certain only of their right to be in charge and feel no responsibility to deliver the results of those they pretend to represent.
