Majority of Biden’s 2020 Voters Now Say He’s Too Old to Be Effective

Widespread concerns about President Biden’s age pose a deepening threat to his re-election bid, with a majority of voters who supported him in 2020 now saying he is too old to lead the country effectively, according to a new poll by The New York Times and Siena College.

The survey pointed to a fundamental shift in how voters who backed Mr. Biden four years ago have come to see him. A striking 61 percent said they thought he was “just too old” to be an effective president.

A sizable share was even more worried: Nineteen percent of those who voted for Mr. Biden in 2020, and 13 percent of those who said they would back him in November, said the 81-year-old president’s age was such a problem that he was no longer capable of handling the job.

Interesting. Should Democrats have removed Joe from office? Would someone like Newsom really have a better chance? What are your thoughts?

 

I don't think Joe's policies would be any different even if you shaved 10 years off of him. At the end of the day IMO it is still policy that matters most. He won running a basement campaign last time so why wouldn't he again? I don't think they are going to remove Biden because of his age. He got LOTS of votes last time. (even some of the dead rose up from their graves to vote for him)

 

Yeah I don't think they have many options beyond hiding him in a basement. Certainly won't let him get on a debate stage.

 

The state of the union speech should tell us a lot about his mental frailty. I’m betting that instead of telling us about the state of our country, his speech will be one long campaign speech with lots of ‘threats to democracy’ thrown in. I’m also betting that he will never debate Trump. Never.

 

Do you think that 2020 Biden voters will now vote for Trump?

 

That depends on how close they live to places where Biden's policies have wreaked havoc. Its my opinion most of those folks will still vote Biden. I think its gonna be lower than last time because of his open borders but I still think its gonna be huge turnout for Joe.

 

He is not too old. I know people much older that don't have scrambled eggs for brains.

 

Totally. These people in the polls don't seem to have a clue that Biden isn't doing one damn thing that his voters think is wrong. He is toeing the party line and doing exactly what those people want him to do. Yes, the country is going to hell in a hand basket but that is not because Biden is too old, it is because of Biden's policies, the same policies his voters wanted and have gotten. But they seem to have no clue that the country is going to hell because of liberal policies, not Biden's actual age. Yes, he is a doddering old fool who falls a lot, walks like his depends are full, and can't finish simple sentences without losing track of where he is, but that doesn't have a darn thing to do with his policies. He's given his voters what they wanted but when things go belly up they refuse to blame the policies, it must be Biden's age.
