There are many people who are very offended and insulted when Putin is attacked and even just criticized.

as Putin is a very important person, should it be a CRIME to attack him and criticize him?

    Sorry?

Our good friend Vladimir Vladimirovic is a chief of state, the chief of state of a foreign country.
This makes him not subject of law, in the sense that there are laws against the offense of your OWN chief of state [in Italy it's "vilipendio" ... contempt], while about the leaders of the other countries they are in the field of the laws dealing with diplomatic relations.

Substantially, out of international treaties which can give a particular status to the leader of a foreign country [the President of the United States is also leader in a NATO perspective, for example], Putin is a common foreigner. What can limit the possibility to attack and criticize him is simply ... diplomacy.

Nothing more than this. And thinking well, we criticize and attack in a similar way our own leaders, so ... what are we talking about?

for being like Hitler and Stalin.

oh, right, Stalin was a "great man" and Hitler was just "fighting Communism".

Soviet-Nazi friendship pact of 1939-1941 will never be forgotten, or forgiven.

The juvenile behavior from some western leaders is how we know that they aren't going to do anything, unless we've sunk even further than I believe.
