without background checks, we may be selling guns to murderers, rapists, child molesters, terrorists.

They could use it to sort out the undesirables from their mass data steals to see who would be a better candidate to try to milk their credit and such. Criminals tend to be poor, though not always of course.

If they present such a risk, why are they continually let out of prison, and back into society where they can do the most harm with their mere presence? Why are career criminals allowed to amass extensive rap sheets that demonstrate how they cannot, do not, and will not abide by the rules of society?

Even with background checks, you may be selling firearms to murderers, rapists, child molesters, and terrorists. The only thing a background check will tell you is if they have actually been caught. If they have not, then the background check has prevented no harm from occurring.

In simple, uncomplicated, easy to understand terms, federally mandated background checks on firearms purchases let the seller know only if the buyer is an incompetent individual.

Which do YOU want Ron? Violent people in jail, or violent people on the streets raping, murdering and in illegal possession of firearms for the 2nd+ conviction?

70%+ of those put in jail for weapons offenses have done it before. Not keeping them in jail is the price for that.

We can either pay to keep them in prison, or we can pay because they're free to run around being what they are, violent, hateful, feral human beings.

sounds nice but once a gun registry is created how long before its hacked or some antigun politician decides that what people own guns should be free to the public to view. this kind of stuff has been tossed around in the past. Make it public what people own. even in my area they used to publish in the newspaper who was buying purchase permits. all a criminal would have to do is look in the newspaper to see which houses had guns to steal. Luckily we elected a new sheriff and he put an end to that real quick.

Its not just about selling guns to the right people. its about makeing gun owners an open target to criminals along with corrupt governemnt.

black market also goes into hyperdrive as guns which are Off the books will carry a premium even with common gun owners. The way this executive action is set up is that if you buy a gun you wont be able to sell it without paying for and waiting on ATF approval for a dealers license. You will basically have to wait on approval from the government to sell a gun. You will also have to pay for it. might as well say its a tax which they probably will.

We have seen this all play out before BTW. Its nothing new for radicals leftists.

Even with background checks, you may still be selling firearms to people who should not have them. Ultimately nothing changes. Background checks have not prevented any of the recent mass murders from taking place. If twenty five mass shootings have taken place in the state of California over the course of last year, often with firearms acquired in the state and in compliance with all laws, it is not likely that anything beneficial or positive can be done.

If the courts are not willing to prosecute them for possessing firearms when they are already disqualified, why should they not be able to own them?

Do you want them to be let loose in society where they can easily acquire firearms through illegal sources, and put society at even greater risk?

It would be easy had a democrat not made it harder for citizens to become licensed dealers. Along with other requirements, the fee was raised by 2000%

He's concerned about who will pay for that, what's his position on who pays for welfare and Obamacare.
