Geoneutrinos are the byproduct of nuclear reactions deep in the earth. It is no longer believed that the earths deeper temperatures are left over heat from its formation. In fact one day our earth could run out of radioactive material and fully solidify saying good by to plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, a magnetic field and eventually an atmosphere. Recently we have found a way to measure the heat production deep in the earth by measuring these geoneutrinos and we have built a few devices around the world fully proving that radio active decay occurs in the earth. Before I commit to the idea that recent CO2 increases are the largest cause of global warming we have seen recently we need to solve a huge 'variable'. What is the temperature of our earth doing since it isn't constant? I want to see a trend showing and increase and decrease of geoneutrinoes so that we can determine how much of the temperature is affected by geoneuclear reactions. We can no longer assume that the earths heat production is constant and unchanging except for a small loss as time passes. We must now include it as a fluctuating variable that is important to the global heat budget. So please spend those 'global warming research dollars' on these neutrino detectors so that we can answer the big question and move on. Let us discover the truth. For more evidence of the changing core temperatures of the earth please research the rise in volcanic action, seismic activity, and increase in temperature in our deeper oceans, all of which can occur due to a hotter earth core with more internal pressures and thinning crust due to more heat in the mantel. Even the shifting magnetic field could be related to changing core temperatures. the advancement of neutrino detectors https://www.inverse.com/article/21109-time-to-bring-earth-into-the-nearest-chevron-we-guess
Global warming is still an issue regardless of whether or not you agree with it. But that said, the research is cool and I hope they find out that the Earth has plenty of material left to keep its core hot and us alive.
Temperature of the core and climate temperature are two separate things. Why, atmosphere modification is what's causing climate change. If you dig a hole it isn't going to affect the temperature on the surface unless you hit magma.
Your body doesn't produce much heat and would die without the sun but put on a blanket and your body heat can produce enough to sustain you even when sun is not warming you. When you have a blanket(atmosphere) your body(planet)'s heat is more important to the resulting temperature. Of course putting a blanket on a cold dead rock wouldn't make the rock warmer but the earth isn't a dead rock yet. It is alive and produces heat.
Consider cities and construction materials as "heat sinks". How about moving to construction materials with Earth Neutral heat sink effect?
