    If you'd like to comment about the results of the primaries today (to the extent that they will happen), feel free to comment here.

    Only Florida, Arizona, and Illinois will conduct their primaries and voters in some of those states woke up to radically different rules put into place today. Ohio closed its polls and rescheduled the live voting date to June. The DNC has urged the rest of the states to keep their current schedule, but to switch solely to mail-in ballots.

    The link to the NPR results can be found here: https://apps.npr.org/liveblogs/20200317-primaries/

    Florida is already reporting 56% and Biden has a commanding 60.5% - 22.7% lead. I assume he has already been declared the winner by some (all?).

    The reporting I saw is that Bernie does not intend to drop out after today's results, regardless.

    Bernie is getting Blown out by about 40 pts. In FL.

    Losing in IL by about 20% (vastly underperforming his county results).

    For example, in one suburban Chicago County, he won by 20% in 2016, he trails by 20% in 2020.

    He has announced that he isn't going to appear and address results tonight.

    Now I have been a voice for letting the primary process roll along, a believer in the debates, the candidates and the elections making our party stronger. Now with today's results, Sanders should quit and endorse, not just because his path to this nomination is closed and because he is costing the campaign valuable resources fighting a primary , but because if he continues, he is, in effect, ask his voters to take a health risk and extend it, without any substantive benefit, and that demands the Biden voters to do the same. We don't need to postpone these primaries ( there are other races to be decided) ,but we need to make the lines shrink, the distance between those poll booths greater, and keep the time frames for the balloting extended, and actually urge for staggered and a decreased turnout in the Presidential race.

    Vote by mail is fantastic. I am an Oregonian, and I love it, but you can't just send ballots last minute to voters and elections staff who have never done it before except for absentee and assume the 'system' and training for doing this, will work itself in a month. You are asking for chaos and disruption.

    Its time for Sanders to end this, not just for the usual unity argument, but because we need fewer voters in those lines, not more. If both the national political campaigns stop campaigning, the contamination risk is lessened because exposure is more limited.

    Three cheers for a subpar turn-out at all the remaining primaries! If you have something better to do on vote day, do it instead!

    I did a quick search but didn't find any mention of the early result incident in our media.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    https://www.rt.com/usa/483361-democratic-primaries-coronavirus-rigging/
    Chicago election officials told reporters they had tried to switch to mail-in ballots, concerned about catching and spreading the coronavirus, but were stonewalled by Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, a Democrat who endorsed Biden the day before the primary. Some polling places were moved at the last minute, and others took place in the senior homes where they were originally scheduled – putting the buildings’ inhabitants at risk. Citywide participation reflected “some of the lowest voter turnout numbers in recent memory,” according to local media.
    But that state’s voters were already crying foul the day before the primary, pointing to local TV station WCIA’s oddly specific “mistake” in broadcasting a graphic of vote results – before anyone had voted – that showed Biden neatly beating Sanders by five percentage points.
    Exit Poll discrepancies wasn’t enough.
    Hours long voting lines wasn’t enough.
    Closing Polling Stations last minute wasn’t enough.
    Not counting provisional ballots wasn’t enough.
    Super Delegates wasn’t enough.
    While the station insisted it was an honest mistake – a mere “graphics test” that accidentally went live – Sanders supporters pointed out the county used as a “test” had voted overwhelmingly for the Vermont senator in 2016, and highlighted the absurdity that the “random numbers” typically picked for such tests would line up so perfectly with a plausible electoral result.
    PBS just said that Biden needs to win 62% of the remaining delegates (to get to 1991) which will be a tall hurdle.
    Where Florida is concerned, that recording of him praising Castro's regime did him in.
    Not quite, the DNC still needs him to grovel on screen, kiss Biden's ring, and then beg his Bernie Bros to forget EVERYTHING that Bernie has said and declared about the political system and economics from day one of this contest and join him in selling out for a second time. Until he manages to pull off that miracle of sleeze-baggery, the DNC still needs him.
    Too bad for the DNC. Bernie Bros actually believe in his revolution. No doubt Bernie will sellout now, but that's all the DNC will get...
    Bottom line.
    1) Since an overwhelming majority of Sanders' Supporters are concentrated in Deep Blue States, if any of them (in those states) don't show up, it won't matter.
    Those states will be Blue (regardless).
    2) In MI and WI, Biden merely needs to return to 2012 Numbers among Blacks.
    Hillary's underperformance among Black in Detroit and Milwaukee cost her those states.
    Biden WILL get those Black Votes Back.
    3) In PA, much of the Trump Vote was an Anti-Hillary Vote.
    (Think Suburban Women in Western PA).
    Biden was born in PA, and he will to get those voters back.
    THUS: In the places (non-Deep Blue States/Swing States) where Sanders' Supporters might actually matter, Biden has enough of a coalition to win without them if need be.
    Sanders to 'assess his campaign' after another round of bruising losses-statement
    WASHINGTON, March 18 (Reuters) - Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders plans to talk with supporters to "assess his campaign" after bruising losses to Joe Biden in the most recent round of voting, his campaign said in a statement on Wednesday.
    https://news.trust.org/item/20200318114835-pd5yz
    Oh well was looking forward to a brokered convention but appears Biden has a lock unless the DNC leadership gets too scared of him running and takes some drastic action.
    I think that it will be a bit more significant in numbers, yes, than the PUMAS (political unity my ass) bunch who refused to vote for Obama after he took the nomination from Hillary back in 2008.
    So, Democrats are going to advance Uncle Joe. Who could have ever predicted that... I mean, it's not like he's ever been a front runner, when democrats thought they actually had a chance at winning.. But sure. Uncle Joe it is. And the world is better off for it. Let him start explaining how not producing Oil or coal in this nation will turn the electricity off for most everyone... That'll get him votes....:roflol:
    So Sanders is 'assessing' his campaign after getting badly whacked again yesterday, eh.
    Allow me to save you some time, Bern...
    GET OUT NOW!!! … and endorse Joe :thumbsup:
    This (defeating that filthy lying incumbent republican son-of-a-b*tch in Nov) is bigger than you.
    Anything less is IRRESPONSIBLE at this point... 8)
    President Trump was so scared of Biden that he got himself impeached just to try and stop it...and he will still face Biden.
    Don't get me wrong, it could happen. Just like it could happen that tomorrow the Wuhan flu simply stopped and everyone got better. Yes, it could happen.
