Here I'll ask again. You failed to answer (for reference, this is post number 48 that you just quoted)

"New York University's Richard Sylla divides the causes into macroeconomic and internal reasons. Macroeconomic causes included international disputes about foreign exchange and interest rates, and fears about inflation.

The internal reasons included innovations with index futures and portfolio insurance. I've seen accounts that maybe roughly half the trading on that day was a small number of institutions with portfolio insurance. Big guys were dumping their stock. Also, the futures market in Chicago was even lower than the stock market, and people tried to arbitrage that. The proper strategy was to buy futures in Chicago and sell in the New York cash market. It made it hard – the portfolio insurance people were also trying to sell their stock at the same time.[14]"

Who said: "I wonder where all the money went?" ;-)

Doesn't matter, you are trying to take a cheap shot at Pres. Obama because you can't defend Trump's cowardice.

At first Ronald Reagan didn't trust G.H. Bush, they say because Bush was a member of the Trilateral Commission that Reagan despised.

But it was the RNC who pushed Bush on to Reagan to be his VP running mate in 1980.

With in a few years Reagan really liked Bush.

But You'll remember that Reagan didn't endorse Bush for the Republican nomination for President in 1988 until Bush had enough delegates lined up for winning the nomination.

Are you refusing to answer such an easy couple of questions? This has nothing to do with Trump or Obama. The question was about the last President who served their country by enlisting or commissioning in the US armed forces.

I don't consider expanding the MIC to be a good thing.

Of course it is. Placing his hand over his heart would have been the proper token of respect.

Has to be G.W. Bush (43)

But they say back during the era anyone who enlisted in the Navy, Marine Corps or Air Forced were just dodging the draft.

Yesterday saw more than a few who had their hands over their hearts and was the first time I ever seen it done at a funeral.

My point is that Bush 43 was the last President brave enough to serve their country.

Commander in Chief to Commander in Chief - salute seems more appropriate to me.

There doesn't have to be a major conflict to serve your country. All it takes is a recruiter, a college degree (to be an officer- or just get over a 31 on the ASVAB), and a set of testicles to serve.

I understand that, but one man chose not to serve and the other chose to hide pjand attacked some who have.

I had to fix that, I meant "43."

Bush (43) flew the F-102 which was an interceptor and considered one of the most difficult planes to fly.

The states Air National Guard mission during the Cold War was the air defense of the CONUS.

The F-102 was designed to intercept and shoot down Soviet bombers.

You also have to pass the physical exam. Many can't do that.

No, neither volunteered to serve their country or were brave enough to sign the dotted line.

It's why I support prior service as a requirement for Commander in Chief
