    I briefly scanned the article and it’s s play on numbers. There are two ways of looking at this: illegals increase the population but don’t commit as many crimes so the crime ratios go down. The other way of looking at it is every crime committed by an illegal adds to the total amount of crimes committed, ergo, we’d have less total crimes if we had less illegals. Nazis don’t seem to commit many crimes, but if we import tons of them our crime to population ratio would go down, thats the argument of the people who prefer to use the ratios instead of total crimes committed.

    You should have done more then briefly scan. Then you'd see the Cato Institutes findings in Texas (where they record the immigration status of all arrestees) that showed

    It's not a matter of ratios, it's a matter that illegal immigrants (at least in texas, which stands to reason would be one of the hottest spots for illegal immigration) commit fewer crimes then native borns.

    Which doesn't surprise me as most of those who come across the boarder illegally do so simply to find work and a new life away from the hell holes they left.

    We've had several threads on this forum from right wingers who said the USA needs to be the guarantor of freedom in the world and should invade Syria and Venezuela among other countries for that purpose. Anybody thinks we should invade Mexico for that purpose as well (I do not)?

    The USA should not invade Syria, Venezuela, or Mexico. Those are sovereign countries that have to struggle and solve their own problems. But we damn sure should build the wall on the southern border because of the problems Bill Clinton describes below:
