With any luck you might even be on board when it runs over the next hapless Democrat who makes Obama look bad.

Exactly how much $$$ does it take to buy re-election? Ask Obama and the DNC.. they seem to have some magic figure in mind.

President Fundraiser – Spending YOUR Cash To Raise HIS Cash…

No president in the history of the United States has spent more time on the job flying around the country (on the taxpayers’ dime) begging for campaign cash than has Barack Obama.

    EXCERPT:

President Obama this month participated in 33 fundraisers, a rate of just over one a day and more than eight times the number of fundraising events George W. Bush did in June 2004, the year of Bush’s reelection campaign.

The Obama fundraising tally – courtesy of the most trusted White House statistician, CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller – suggests a president furiously grasping for cash as his campaign fails to meet its fundraising targets and suddenly finds itself outraised by Mitt Romney.

Obama’s aggressive fundraising runs up a large bill for taxpayers, who must foot many of the exorbitant costs of presidential travel, though a portion is paid for by the Obama campaign.

Obama has begun to try to make a virtue of losing the money race – which he won handily in 2004 – sending an email to supporters Tuesday titled “I will be outspent.” The missive suggested that Romney is taking money from nefarious outside groups and is a tool of the rich while Obama focuses on small donors and sticks to his day job.

“I’ve got other responsibilities I’m attending to,” Obama said.

But the stats and Obama’s schedule tell a different story – of a president constantly on the road raising money, repeatedly returning to the White House after midnight and then rolling into work late the next day.

According to TFM's link, it'll cost donors a hefty $50,000 to mingle with Romney at the retreat. The Obama link says you can donate as little as $15 to the campaign to become eligible. You find outrage over $15, SMW? Where's the smarts?

You know, I am curious as to why you so dislike this fundraising idea, so I compiled a list of theories.

    Michelle Obama is black.

    Michelle Obama is highly educated.

Michelle Obama was very successful in private life, having a lucrative job and two beautiful daughters.

    Michelle Obama is very intelligent.

    Michelle Obama is a Democrat.

But I think what is most likely is an amalgam. Michelle Obama is a highly successful, well educated, intelligent, and black Democrat with beautiful family.

It is a fundraiser. Her husband is running for reelection. Your criticism seems rather rabid and localized to her. It does not make sense.

There is not enough money in the world to put me on a bus with that Marxist. And they want the winner to pay them. Ha!

    I love that shirt! I'll take 2 X-D

It is pretty funny, now that you bring it up, how the guy has little gimmicks to offer the commoners a chance to be near His Highness..

To the contrary, I rather enjoy pointing out flaws in arguments.

Michelle Obama is about as threatening to the country as Ovaltine. Like other first ladies and aspiring first ladies, she campaigns and fundraisers for her husband. I think the issue here, as exemplified by your threads constant berating of the first lady for things like encouraging children to eat healthy and exercise has demonstrated that your spots objectivity is sorely lacking.

If you do not like me pointing out what can best be described as incessant pettiness and reflexive outrage then I would suggest not reading what I write.

The Obama team does have some interesting and unorthodox fund raising techniques..

That being said, I think I prefer this more 'grassroots' like method as opposed to Mitt's method of consolidating as many Republicans Billionaires as possible at some weekend retreat in Utah.

Not sure it really matters though, they both seem rather bought and paid for at this point by the big donors. Citizens Unitied is doing serious damage to the integrity of our elections.

Well, actually Mitt's doing the same 'grassroots' fundraising in the form of rides on his campaign bus. Main difference -- Mitt doesn't need to use his wife as bait.

Cute pic... guess I'm not the only one who's noticed.

Indeed, is this ever not the case for the two oligarchical party candidates?

Well maybe Ann doesn't have much to offer? I dont know. Haven't really seen much about her.

Despite your growing count of anti-MO threads, she is rather well liked, I am not suprised she is very involved in the campaign. Many incumbents first ladies have been quite involved in re-election compaigns. I remember Hillary and even Nancy being pretty involved in thier husbands campaigns. So it seems your critique is inconsistent, or at least over blown. But this is not suprising cause we all know you despise the FLOTUS, so I would expect nothing less.

Our "Get on Board" contest has ended

The deadline for "Get on Board" has passed, but there's still time to lend your support to this campaign.

People like you—not Washington lobbyists or special-interest PAC—are the ones building Obama-Biden 2012 from the ground up. By growing this campaign with grassroots donations, we can re-elect a President and Vice President who are accountable to us and no one else.

    Please make a donation today.

Nonsense... I don't despise MO. Nobody will be happier than me when she fades back into oblivion and becomes known as Michelle who?

Regarding the $1,000.00 blouse, quality does cost money, which welfare-collecting Walmart-shopping liberals may tend to forget.

Sorry, but no blouse (or any article of clothing that isn't a freakin' suit of armour) is worth $1k. That's just ridiculous.

In Michelle's defense (yeah, right)... she does pay for her own clothes. Which actually explains a lot.

It's very clear "us" means collectivists, unions, illegals, and coddled and excused "victims" languishing on the Democrat Plantation...
and "no one else" means the producer class....

    predictibly.

To Smartmouthwoman: One gets the feeling Michelle thinks Hussein is a nickelodeon:

Only Michelle wants more than nickels:

Michelle Obama to attend western Mass. fundraiser
    July 10, 2012

BOSTON—Michelle Obama is planning a trip to western Massachusetts to raise money for President Obama's reelection campaign, including a $20,000-a-seat dinner with Gov. Deval Patrick.

On Aug. 3, the first lady will attend an afternoon fundraising reception at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield. Singer James Taylor will perform, with tickets starting at $150.

Later in the evening, Michelle Obama will attend a campaign roundtable and dinner at the Richmond home of Gov. Patrick and his wife Diane.

Tickets for the dinner begin at $20,000.

All money raised at the event will go to the Obama Victory Fund -- a joint fundraising committee of Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee and several state Democratic parties.

Both Obama and Republican rival Mitt Romney have relied on Massachusetts donors to bulk up their campaign coffers.
