Michelle Obama declares 'Black Girls Rock!'

So you think the color of ones skin makes one "rock", correct? Also no conservative thinks anyone is inferior except people who incite racism with no basis. Those people are definitely inferior. Pretty much as low as you can get on the human scale of intelligence. Its right up there with putting a fire out on your face with an ice pick.

 

I've been to many rock concerts going back to the 60's. Seen all of the heavies, Led Zeppelin, the Cream, Jimmy Hendrix, Stones, Fleetwood Mac, The Who, The Eagles and even No Doubt back in 1997. Didn't see one black girl at any of these concerts, not one.

Michelle Obama is just like her incompetent husband, a liar.

 

So a personal attack when I point out how conservatives seem to lose their minds whenever someone they don't like says something that is completely innocuous. They see conspiracy everywhere whenever anyone they think is inferior is acting like a "normal" person.

I think there was a n organization putting on the event called " Black Girls Rock". The intent is to help fix a perceived problem of self esteem. So it wasn't like Obama just said it off the top of her head.

 

Well I actually picked up a real Dictionary, "Merriam-Websters Collegiate Dictionary" to be exact. Of the 14 different definitions for "rock" I can assume that Michelle Obama was referring to being dumber than a rock.

if she was constantly putting down white people cause of their skin color and then said something like this, then it would be racist imo

as is, this is like going to Iowa and saying Iowans rock.... which obviously doesn't mean all the other states do not rock.... just means the politician is in Iowa, speaking to Iowans

What makes her obese, because she doesn't weigh 95lbs. Personally I like the size she is, but I guess that is the difference in culture. White men like them paper thin and black men like them with some meat on their bones.

 

And you would be attacked by the leftwing media and black leaders as racist. Had Laura Bush done this or a first Lady Romney they would never be able to live it down.

Now will Michele do a "white girls" things to make it even and fair and to make sure white girls aren't shamed or made to feel badly because Michele doesn't think they are beautiful too?

 

Why would white girls feel ashamed or feel badly about anything? lol Why do you assume Michelle doesn't think white girls are beautiful? I think my woman is beautiful. Doesn't mean I don't think other women are beautiful as well.

 

What rights are involved here?

 

As opposed to young white girls don't need positive reinforcement? There really is a difference between whites and blacks, blacks being more helpless or something?


Again had Laura Bush gone to a celebration of white girls, which that being held at all would have ratcheted up the race baiters, gone to such a gathering and made the same types of statements she would have been roundly condemned.

So why the difference?

 

Same as black girls or are their really differences between the races and black girls inherently have emotional issues?

Have you ever heard her scream it out or otherwise declare it? Why does she think black girls need to be told that?

Why are "black girl" rally's acceptable but not for "white girls"? Why is it ok for blacks to be exlcusitory and descriminatory but not whites?

 

WTF. Half the time Conservatives are going on rants about black people not stepping up and making better lives for themselves - and here we have conservatives freaking out when a successful black woman tries to rally young black people to have a more positive self image ... just WTF.

This thread isn't about her - it's about the angst of angry white dudes. Time to grow up.

 

Why doesn't she do so for ALL young people, why does she think she has to treat black youngster special or had to preach to them that they are?

 

I immediately think of, diversity training, client relations skills practice, and helping out with stress management in a team oriented fashion.

 

Finally! I always knew that black girls rocked and now someone has finally declared it official......derp!

 

What it should be... "We know..."

Try typing "Beautiful Women" in google images. No seriously... go. There are plenty of avenues that already back the suggestion that white girls are awesome creatures... and white girls that look to these visual representations are not going without. Black girls, on the other hand, aren't reinforced in their outer-worth at every turn... and whether we'd like to admit it or not, that's huge with regard to both self-esteem & empowerment. As secondary as looks are, it's trivial to ignore it's inevitable impact.

Being angry with #BlackGirlsRock is just as silly as being pissed at HBCU's or BET, because these outlets & institutions were created due to that exclusionary practices that predate them... not for some unnecessary, whimsical need to be dismissive. It's easy to scream racism when you willingly ignore context.
