Come on, you can't make that statement. You're saying that you're a mind reader and you just know that they are against it. That's like supernatural or something.

Catholics have written several bulls about the subject and why they are against birth control. Protestants, as Monty Python would tell us, are fine with putting a little rubber thing on their ****.

I am anti-abortion and not anti-prohibition of abortion. I don't care if you want to have sex with one, two, three people. It would be nice if you self-protected so that you don't have kids or come down with a disease, but since I believe in individual liberty I'm not going to tell you what to do.

Yep, there are some real turds in the punchbowl that is fo' sho'. I suspect it is because they're not having rich sex lives of their own, but that's just a suspicion.

The cluster of cells that could potentially lead to life could also kill the host. We cant just make abortion illegal, there needs to be exceptions and it is almost impossible to get people to agree on most of those exceptions. No one on this thread will read anything that changes their stance on abortion, therefore we are just arguing to argue. The person who wins the argument is usually the person with the law on their side. Right now the law is on the side of pro-choice, get used to it unless the two sides can work together to limit it like they did with this Michigan legislation

I'm not for prohibition so you needn't make me an argument.

What I am saying is that words and word choice are important. It would be like putting Muslim and terrorist in the same paragraph. Even if you're not calling the Muslim a terrorist, the human brain synchs up the words, anyway. You're tacitly implying that babies are a cancer in the way that the human brain works.

You could have easily said that nail cells are cells too, but you chose to use cancer.

It was to make a point that there are many kinds of cells but cells do not always mean human life when in a human. Cells are cells, human life is human life.

I realize how an analogy works. I'm questioning the particular analogy.

Indeed, in the sense you are speaking, I am anti-abortion too! One of the reasons I had a vasectomy very young when I determined I would not have children because of possible ill health due to a genetic condition.

To be clear, I am speaking of the self-proclaimed "pro-life" fanatics that want to make abortion illegal under all circumstances.

However, I was always puzzled by the "pro-lifers'" silence on birth control But I have seen enough now to see that EVERY major "pro-life" group is opposed to contraception as well as abortion, and wish to outlaw contraception as well, even things like condoms for the reasons they state in my quote.

I invite you to post quotes from as many "pro-life" groups who advocate the banning of ALL abortions of ALL kinds who also will plainly state they do NOT wish to make contraceptives illegal.

As I said, you do not wish to ban all abortion for everyone. You are not a ""fanatic", you are an American whop understands civil liberties.

Do note, though, that these comments were made by guys who clearly indicate these are the "reasons" women might need birth control. They made NO provision for women of any other motivation or circumstance.

Misogyny and hate is alive and well in the "pro-life" movement.

PS. I put "pro-life" in quotes because these people are not pro-life, they are pro-fascism.

Sorry to hear that. Kids can be a wonderful thing, but there are other options.

I am pro-condom use. It's a double duty must for STD prevention and birth control. I know people aren't happy with this all the time, but in life the only person you can fully trust to look out for you (aside from Mom and Dad) is you.

Oh, I have a problem with those guys, too, as I've pointed out in the past that they put the onus on the female and when you bring up paying child support there's always a story about how somebody's brother-in-law, baby cousin Ray had some woman who took his money and wouldn't let him see the kids and got more than the legally allowable amount for maintenance and child support...blah blah.

Take it from me...its not just in that movement.

republicans want to force people to buy insurance, thought they were against that?

also thought they wanted to deregulate people, not regulate them more?

sounds like republicans want big government to control peoples private lives

My post said the cancer cells WILL kill the host, not could. And the liberal mother WILL kill the baby, not could. If you wish to use "Could" Then the murdering mother COULD have used contraception or insisted that her legion of lovers use contraception. But asking her to use her head instead of her vagina would over complicate her life. Killing babies is easier.

    poker 1
    n
    1. (Engineering / Tools) a metal rod, usually with a handle, for stirring a fire

    2. a person or thing that pokes.

    poker 2
    n
(Group Games / Card Games) a card game of bluff and skill in which bets are made on the hands dealt, the highest-ranking hand (containing the most valuable combinations of sequences and sets of cards) winning the pool
[probably from French poque similar card game]

Kindly note that your game of comfort is not contraindicated by my post. In fact, your game is not even the primary description of the word 'poker.'
I hope that this in some way assuages your overly righteous anger!:razz:

Yeah, ALL pregnant women have "legions of lovers", just can't keep their legs closed, blah blah blah.

What a sad mindset to live in. Even when I was an atheist, daily I would thank God I am not a Rightie misogynist.

If the republican party thinks that they are going to stop women from having abortions or severely restricting them, they are operating out of ignorance/arrogance. It's going to be an exercise in futility for them.

Because beta males rarely have contact with American women, the Greatest Women on the Planet. They don't even realize that most American women OPPOSE abortion.

The issue is KILLING BABIES. Denying a battalion of sperm donors is a lame attempt to deflect from the issue of MURDER.

More not knowing WTF you re blathering about posts, I see:(from the CNN poll cited in the link)

In total, 62 percent of Americans want all or most abortions to be prohibited while only 37 percent of Americans want all or most abortions kept legal — the position of President Barack Obama and Planned Parenthood, the nation’s biggest abortion business.

More Americans “Pro-Life” Than “Pro-Choice” for First Time

PRINCETON, NJ -- A new Gallup Poll, conducted May 7-10, finds 51% of Americans calling themselves "pro-life" on the issue of abortion and 42% "pro-choice." This is the first time a majority of U.S. adults have identified themselves as pro-life since Gallup began asking this question in 1995.

"Progressives" cannot "progress", as Americans become more and more conservative, but seek to keep dragging us back into the failed policies of the past.

You mean more stupidity. Some people should be deemed to stupid to live.

Repulicans want to force everyone else to be poor and try to disguise it under "life" while they do everything in their power to kill, maim, and oppress people around the world.

Really, mean and not at all nice. Stuff like that makes Independents think both you guys are full of (*)(*)(*)(*).

I'm going to borrow "Repulicans". It makes me think of sea birds. Anyway, there's not much you can say in regards to the Democrats being any different when they've also done their share of bombing.

Please disregard my laughter. Liberals can be comedic without intending to be funny.

Your PROOF that the Gallup poll is wrong comes from WHERE?
