Gun control came up because this forum is dedicated to the subject. If you don't want to discuss the elements of that issue brought up by the movie you chose to discuss, then what was your point?

Clearly not based in reality, as women are now the fastest growing segment of the American gun culture.

Yes, you are correct. Do you think that it's in the interest of the Gun Lobby to get women more involved with guns?

I accept your concession of the point.

    Unsupportable nonsense.
Nothing in the US Constitution has ever prevented anyone from voting, or granted the right to same.

It's in the interest of public safety to get more women involved. For too long, women have been treated as if they have to faint hysterically at the first sign of any kind of problem and let their "big strong men" take care of everything.

Fortunately, more and more women are standing up in defiance of that fatally-flawed philosophy and have begun choosing to take responsibility for themselves and their own security; to the betterment of us all. Unfortunately, there are still those who recoil in horror at the very thought of having to take responsibility for themselves, even to the point of working to undermine the very ability to make that choice.

    You said:
"A great movie about gun control...."
How are you not sure how gun control came up?

The only references to gun control, in the movie, were a few statements by Miss Sloane. So, yes, it's about gun control, but that's not the main point. It's more about political lobbying, in general. And, as I mentioned, the female stigma with guns.

But I would fathom to say, that if you're obsessed with gun rights, you might be offended by the overall plot of the film.

And thus, you stated "A great movie about gun control" when you knew the move was, in fact, not a movie about gun control.
Why did you make a statement you knew was not true?

Perhaps an obsession with gun control?

More like trolling for attention in a topic he cannot otherwise competently discuss.

Putting words in my mouth. Why don't you watch the movie, then provide your assessment of the plot?

Post one reads "A great movie about gun control". Did you not write that?

I used quotation marks for a reason. YOUR words.
YOU said: "A great movie about gun control"
YOU said: "The only aspect of Gun Control in the movie were some statements about the unpopularity of guns among most women, and the desire to change that stigma."
YOU said: "...but that's not the main point. It's more about political lobbying..."

Your OP: "A great movie about gun control"
But, as proven by your own words, you knew the move was, in fact, not a movie about gun control.
Why did you make a statement you knew was not true?

It is a movie about gun control, and about a lot of other things. In case you haven't noticed, movies can have plots and subplots, etc.

Unsurprising, you keep changing your claim as to what the movie is about - which only proves the fact you made a statement you knew was not true.

As evidenced by those who must bolster their argumentative position by deliberately engaging in known falsehoods, and advocating for doing such.

What "known falsehoods" would that be? I believe that there are a lot of ways for societies to function. I don't think the US has a monopoly on the best ways to run a society, in every facet of politics. I think there is always room for improvement, and that the US can learn some lessons from other countries.

That being the case, it does not belong in a forum about gun control
I'll ask a mod to move it.
