it doesn't surprise me that some republicans want to reward companies that ship Americans jobs overseas, all we have to do is put in the tax code that over 80% of employees must be US citizens or some such language to receive the tax cut

companies that outsource our jobs are hurting America.. we make laws to prevent that like we do people that speed or what not... remember coprs are "people" too, we can pass laws that protect Americans from them disrupting society just like we can make speed limit laws to slow people down

Yeah you could RAISE their taxes ....you could also crucify them or burn them at the stake....but its that kind on anti business Democrat attitude and policies that has caused the mass exodus of US Companies w/jobs to begin with......

I would never want to leave this country......but the Democrat's war on Business is forcing us all out......

Then here is Obama saying almost the same thing as Romney though Romney just wants to keep it revenue neutral.

Obama proposes to lower the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 28 percent while at the same time ending dozens of tax deductions. Businesses would end up paying tax on a larger amount of taxable income. Result: a higher aggregate business tax bill.

I'm still waiting to hear about tax breaks. Your link does not address that. Please read my posts here where I discuss repatriating money and what is the reason for doing that when the sales are made overseas by overseas offices.

It's admirable that you want to believe the liberal talking point but that does not make it accurate or correct. My kids believed in the Easter Bunny and tooth fairy and I encouraged that as well until they were capable of knowing better.

That is true as long as the profits remain outside the US. Otherwise, it is taxed according to IRC 969.

 

Because they can also claim a deduction for moving from Toledo to Boise.

There is no incentive for shipping jobs overseas. It is the same deduction regardless of where the company "moves" to. Obama makes it sound like there is a special deduction that is enticing business to move overseas.

I think Obama is referring to IRC 969 which allows profits from overseas to remain untaxed as long as the profits remain overseas.

For those who are not tax experts, it is easier to describe it as a moving expense than an actual exclusion.

exactly - this is a free market, everyone knows thats best for everyone - it sounds bad that 'jobs are being lost to other countries' but they have a competitive advantage - so either we provide something else, or we lose - and if we try to force the jobs / businesses to stay here, then we might as well just go back to the dark days of communist countries

we have to actually win in the free markets - its not like we are granted victory or owed it - ask anyone in this business, they are going to do exactly what makes them more money, as they should

and even if jobs are being pushed overseas, owners of the stock, those who work at the company etc. are all getting richer - people get mad when businesses do well, but what investments do you think are in your 401k?
