I think I used Ramuesen (or maybe it was RCP) a lot because they always had a lot of other polls to back up their research.

I don't use Rasmussen because they don't publish what questions they asked and how it was worded like polls like Fox and Gallup does

And you think the polls taken even the day before the 2012 elections were that different?
Don't you remember the look of disbelief and stupor on the Fox's news main "predictor of the Romney landslide?" Even AFTER Obama's win was called by ALL, including Fox?

If Romney were running against Obama today in a general election I think Obama would lose big time. The worm has turned for the public with regards to Obama.

    I'm not sure about that.

Conservatism is still considered a complete failure by many, regardless of what the opinion of Obama currently is.

Our votes for President may not matter due to our state's rather pitiful 3 electoral votes, but our votes for who represents us in Congress still matter quite a bit, as Senator Lisa Murkowski found out the hard way during her desperate write-in campaign back in 2010; she is singing a much more humble tune these days. I will do my part in voting that Obamasucker Mark Begich out of office this year!

Fortunately, stupid liberals number only about 20% of this country, so their intransigence to admit failed policy and stick with liberals no matter what is well known.

Witness Illinois. That clusterf**k is alllll liberals.

Does this thread even belong in this forum? It should be up in the fever swamps and politicotard forums, really. Romney is not a 'past politician', he's a current one.

Since I voted for Romney when we ran for Governor of Massachusetts and he won....and he did an EXCELLENT JOB being the Governor of Mass....as we in Mass. often will vote in a Republican Governor to balance the mostly Democratic Legislature....I can tell you were and how Romney blew it and lost the Presidential Election.

Romney is a VERY smart guy and unlike some Politicians he has no problems with admitting when he doesn't know enough about something to create policy so he will bring in the best and brightest people who actually are part of the Private Sector to develop viable plans.

An example of this was Romney Care and it has worked very well.

But when Romney ran for President he made the BIGGEST MISTAKE a Moderate Republican could make...he coddled the Extremist Right Wing.

At that EXACT MOMENT....Romney lost the election.

At a time Romney should have been talking about how he as Governor of Mass. was able to WORK with a vast majority Democratic Legislature and create a working Universal Healthcare Plan that has resulted in SURPLUS MASS. BUDGETS one of the highest rates of Economic Growths in the Nation and one of the Highest Increase in Home Values...14% last year.....he instead listed to some IDIOT ADVISERS and went DARK SIDE!!!

When I saw Romney talking about such issues as Gay Marriage....LEGAL IN MASS...1st State to be legal....War on Drugs....Pot...Legal in Mass. decriminalized up to 1 ounce per person in possession.....talk about Abortion....Romney NEVER, EVER ONCE brought this issue up as Governor of Mass....and then DISTANCE HIMSELF FROM HIS OWN CREATED GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT.....Romney Care.......I could not believe it!!

It wasn't Romney's fault. It was the republican voting base. They want such an extreme right wing candidate that they force their possible candidates to swing so far to the right, that they end up running back toward the middle (flip flopping) to avoid being completely destroyed in the general election. Our country gets more liberal everyday, and the right wingers still think "it's cause our candidate wasn't conservative enough." I don't know how anyone can't see that the middle is the only place for a Republican to be if they want to win. Obama did not win because we like him, he won because we disliked Romney. Not because of who he is, but because of who the Republican base forced him to portray himself as to win the primary. Wake up conservatives!!! It's your fault!

Can you explain why you voted for someone whom you knew only wanted to be governor to use on his presidential resume?

I ask the same question of the people of NJ who re-elected Christie knowing that he had no intention of completing his second term.

Uhhhh....Because he was a great Governor.

He was the one that when confronted by a vastly higher percentage Democratic Legislature to do something about the massive costs of paying for Hospital ER and Ambulance bills left unpaid by the uninsured that were KILLING US and causing Massachusetts to run deficit spending budgets year after year....Romney came in and said....OK...we will TOGETHER...fix this but the PLAN we use for Universal Healthcare is going to be created by.....

........by.....THE ACTUAL PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THE PRIVATE SECTORS AND KNOW WHAT WILL WORK!!!

So...Romney got together the absolute best and brightest and they developed Massachusetts Universal Healthcare and Romney told the Mass. Legislature he would pass it into law ONLY...if it was not added to or changed as the Universal Healthcare Plan was developed to work as a WHOLE....and would not work either in pieces or if more was added to it....and it works very well.

Your right and that is what I am talking about.

If Romney had just been Romney....a former Governor of the most Progressive State....Massachusetts...a state that has the largest number of the absolute BEST Colleges and Universities and Institutes...IN THE WORLD....a State where he was elected as a REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR in which there exists a over 90% all Democratic Legislature and was able TO WORK WITH THEM AND CREATE ROMNEY CARE......and a Mass. Republican Governor who until he took some BAD ADVICE from the GOP Strategists had NEVER UTTERED A WORD ABOUT ABORTION OR ANY OTHER FLASH POINT ISSUES.

Basically....if he had just acted like himself I think he would have won.

    You want a response?

Mitt Romney was clearly the better candidate in 2012.

I thought so at the time and I think so today.

Obama lied and obfuscated and shmoozed and mugged and grinned and sang and danced and misled and twisted his opponents words and positions and invented whatever was necessary to win votes.

In fact, to prevent there being massive layoff notices across the country just prior to the election, he violated the law... he just decided to do it on his own, and without authorization from anybody, he postponed sending out those layoff notices until AFTER election day.

You think that was what your ideal leader should do?

Then there's the bull crap about keeping your own health care if you like it and keeping your own Doctor and paying less for health care.

    All Bull Crap!

Yet, it's all just water under the bridge for a lawless resident in chief who looks at America through foreign perceptions.

The perception that exists in Kenya and Indonesia (where Obama has some connection...ahem) and in Europe, where he is adored, or WAS until he listened in on Angela Merkel's private phone calls, is that successful business people could have ONLY become successful by stealing from the poor.

A perception highlighted by Dinesh D'Souza in his debate vs Terrorist friend of Barack's, Bill Ayers.

This perception is that successful business people are the lowest of all the classes. And, according to his experiences overseas, he'd have the various economic and social classes in America at each other's throats. He demeans them (You didn't build that!") and harasses and persecutes them (higher taxes, a higher minimum wage, more regulations and ACA, to name a few) and then expects a growing economy. Or at least puts on the impression he wants our economy to grow.

He is a nightmare come true.

Yes, Mitt Romney was the better candidate and anyone who watches the new documentary on Netflix, "MITT" will say that we made a huge mistake believing the b.s. promoted by the Dems and Obama, about Romney.

Mitt Romney is nothing like what they said about him and the country would be in a far better position today had he been elected instead of Obama.

That enough of a response fer ya?

And when historians look back on this time in history and zero in on the failures of the American electorate they will focus on the biggest mistake we ever made as a people. Our biggest failure of all.

I will tell you when I watched Romney in the debates I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES AND EARS!!!

Here was a BRILLIANT MAN....who was talking like he just attended a Ho Down at Mid-Western Book Burning Event!!

I cannot for the LIFE of me understand WHY he allowed the GOP to mold him into something he was NOT!!!

The really SAD thing is the GOP has just come to realize just how much in trouble they are and as I have posted before an independent GOP Republican National Committee internal analysis and discussion that details that in order for the GOP to remain relevant as a force in American Politics on a Presidential Level they MUST DUMP Flash point Right-Wing Extremist Religious Ideology from any future GOP Presidential Platform.

The Republican Party used to be about creating the environment for businesses both small and large to flourish thus creating JOBS and maintaining ECONOMIC GROWTH.

Now THAT is a very good MISSION STATEMENT.

What is NOT is a Republican Party Presidential Candidate who spends more time talking about circa 1950's FAMILY VALUES, ABORTION, RELIGION, RACIST LAW PASSING....and other idiocies.

Prior to January 1, I did not have medical insurance. Now I do and my medical costs are covered. That's great for me as I paid my taxes, am now in my 60s, and suffer from life threatening illness. This may not please the right wingers but it is something I paid for and is not the freebie those right wingers eagerly give to Israel, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

    Thank you President Obama!
