People do want God or at least mature people do. Most atheists become so as a result of an immature attitude toward spirituality. Notice how bitter and angry most of them are. But as people mature they leave the atheist worldview behind them. This is why many children raised in atheist households find religion later.....they eventually grow up.

 

Look at this. Another mature adult response from, aghast, a non christian. Seems to me, the only evil in this thread is the "christian" as it claims.

I took the part of God transitioning to be a man made construct of God. God changes because man's view changed. Looks like I read it wrong.

 

Then ignore that which you do not believe in. That is what normal people do with 'mythical sky fairies'. People who are not so normal are obsessed with attacking them.

 

There is nothing wrong with the threads assumption and premise.

The problem existing is how some people cannot debate in a civil manner when another member expresses an opinion or posts some factual data that might conflict with the assumption that is this Topic....some of those people who are Religious have shown themselves to be intolerant in the extreme.

This is a DEBATE FORUM.

If a member creates a TOPIC called....People Want GOD...then they have to respect the fact that there are going to be other members that do not believe People Want GOD.

And the creator of such a topic cannot simply label all conflicting posted opinions to his created topic as SNIPING, ARROGANCE, CHILDISH BEHAVIOR...etc.

You create a topic like this and then cry FOUL because many other members simply don't agree with you....and all this shows is that you are NOT interested in debating or exchanging ideas or forming understandings....it just shows you are ONLY INTERESTED IN DICTATING TO OTHERS YOUR OPINIONS AND BELIEFS!

You wonder why so many members have issues with this?

It is because this is NOT a PULPIT!!!

So who/what are El, elohim, YHWH, and all the other names of what is now called 'God'. El I think is singular and Elohim is plural of the same el?

 

And where are the studies to back up your claim? Or could it be your opinion is just the result of an immature worldview? People who claim they do not believe in or want God usually have child-like worldviews.

Truth is people do want God when they mature and realize how the world really works.

I think its an extreme desire to make money; a lot of it and religion generally sells so Hollywood consistently cranks out religious theme-based movies. 2014 will be no different then prior years. If Ridley Scott is directing, you know it will be a winner money-wise.

 

Or perhaps just like when a person stops believing in Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, the Easter Bunny...etc....it is because they have GROWN UP!!!

It's actually the Pagan Spring Equinox Fertility Goddess Holiday of ESTER!

Do you ever wonder where the whole thing about Easter Baskets and Green Grass in them and Bunnies and Eggs and Chicks came from and WHY THE HELL would this have anything to do with Jesus being Crucified?

It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH JESUS!!!

During the Pagan Fertility Holiday of the Goddess Ester people would celebrate spring and rebirth and Fertility and what could represent fertility more than EGGS, BUNNIES, CHICKS, GREEN GRASS ALL IN A BASKET!!!

Rome did the same thing with the Winter Solstice Pagan Celebration.
